Ceiling Fan Remote Control instruction

FOR YOUR SAFETY:
• Read all instructions carefully, even if you feel you are quite familiar with the appliance.
• All fixed wiring appliances must be installed by a qualified electrical contractor and follow AS/NZS 3000
• Install receiver into the ceiling fan canopy to ensure proper protection.
• This unit is to be used for the control of the ceiling fan only, and to be connected to 220-240V~ 50Hz power
supply only, do not exceed rated power input specification.
• Do not install in conjunction with a solid state dimmer.
• Do not install in damp locations. Never immerse in water or allow either component to become wet.
• This unit is for indoor use only.
• Do not modify this unit in any manner.
• Do not pull or cut the leads on the receiver.
• Take care with your unit and take care not to drop the remote or receiver.
• The battery within this unit should be replaced at least every year to avoid leakage and subsequent
damage.
• IMPORTANT: DO NOT DISPOSE OF BATTERY IN FIRE.

RECEIVER WIRING CONNECTION:


Connect the receiver in accordance with the following wiring diagram through hard wiring.
Warning: Incorrect wiring connection will cause damage to your receiver.

RECEIVER INSTALLATION:
IMPORTANT:
WHEN INSTALLING CEILING FAN REMOTE CONTROL WITH ANY EXISTING
WALL MANUAL FAN CONTROLS, THEY MUST BE REPLACED WITH A 2 POLE
ON/OFF SWITCH.

REMOTE CONTROL RECEIVER IS INTENDED FOR USE ONLY WITH CEILING


FANS WITH ALLOWANCE FOR INSTALLATION OF REMOTE RECEIVER INTO FAN CANOPY

(Note: Disconnect the remote control during maintenance and cleaning by turning off the switch)

1. Disconnect mains prior to installation.

2. Connect mains input cables on the Remote Control Receiver, marked “AC POWER INPUT L” (Brown) and
“AC POWER INPUT N” (Blue) to the mains Active and Neutral connections. NOTE: EARTH CABLE
(GREEN) MUST BE WIRED DIRECTLY TO THE BODY OF THE CEILING FAN (refer to the instructions
supplied with your ceiling fan).

3. Connect wires from Remote Control Receiver marked “TO FAN WIRES L” (Brown) and “TO FAN WIRES
N” to the appropriate Active and Neutral input wires on the ceiling fan.

4. Connect light output from Remote Control Receiver marked “TO LIGHT/LIVE” (Black) the light ACTIVE
cable located on the ceiling fan.

NOTE: IF LIGHT OUTPUT FROM CEILING FAN REMOTE CONTROL IS NOT REQUIRED, OUTPUT CABLE
MUST BE TERMINATED VIA AN END CAP SCREW TERMINAL AND SUFFICIENTLY INSULATED.

5. Set the pairing code switch (marked DIP SWITCH) to the same code on both receiver and transmitter (See
“Paring Code Switches” section).

6. Insert the receiver into the hanging bracket. The fan canopy can then be raised to conceal both the receiver
and bracket. NOTE: Some fans may not provide suitable room for installation of the Remote Control
Receiver into the bracket/canopy assembly. In this case, receiver may be installed into the roof adjacent to
the ceiling fan location and in accordance with current wiring regulations.

PARING CODE SWITCHES:


• Codes are set by pushing dip switches UP or DOWN.
• It is imperative that the code entered is exactly the same for both the transmitter and receiver; otherwise the
remote control will not work.
• The code switch enables you to operate a second remote controller independently form this one, so that
you can have two ceiling fans operating from remote control, and they can be controlled independently of
one another
• Install 4 x AAA Batteries (not Supplied), your remote control is now ready to use.

FUNCTIONS OF TRANSMITTER:
LIGHT : ON/OFF- Press and release immediately to turn on or off the light. TRANSMITTER
FAN : Press to toggle the fan to High, Medium or Low speed, or to turn
off the fan.
DELAY OFF: when pressed, light will automatically turn off after 3 minutes.
When pressed, and when light is off, the light will turn on and
then turn off after 3 minutes
LIGHT TIMER: To activate, press this key, then use △ or ▽ keys to select
the desired time from 0.5 ~ 24 hours, light will turn off
automatically after that time.
FAN TIMER: To activate, press this key, then use △ or ▽ keys to select the
desired time from 0.5 ~ 24 hours. Fan will turn off
automatically after that time.
FAN AUTO : Sets the fan control to manual or automatic mode. The default
setting is manual mode.
TEMP. : When remote is in “FAN AUTO” mode, use △ or ▽ keys to
select the desired room temperature. The fan will
automatically very speeds depending upon the variance in
temperature between desired temperature and actual temperature.
- Variance 0℃~1℃, fan will turn on at low speed automatically.
- Variance 2℃~3℃, fan will turn on at medium speed automatically.
- Variance ≧4℃, fan will turn on at high speed automatically.

button located on rear of unit as shown (RIGHT).

Brilliant Lighting warrants this product against defects in manufacture and


workmanship for a period of 2 years from date of purchase. For products used in non-
domestic or commercial applications, Brilliant Lighting warrants this product for a
period of 3 months from date of purchase. This warranty is only valid for products
installed by a qualified electrical contractor and operated within the guidelines specified
by Brilliant Lighting, and within the correct operating voltage ranges as stated on the
product’s rating label.
Warranty does not include damage or loss arising from incorrect installation, operation
or maintenance of this product, damage caused through modification, incorrect
installation, service by unqualified or unauthorised personnel or lack of regular
maintenance and cleaning. Proof of installation by qualified personnel may be
required, eg. Electrical Safety Certificate. Proof of purchase must be supplied with all
warranty claims.
This warranty is provided in addition to any other rights and remedies of the customer
under any law. In applications not intended for household, personal or domestic use,
liability is limited to replacement or reimbursement of product only. Brilliant Lighting
does not warranty the costs of removal or re-installation of this product or associated
components.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian
Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and
compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also
entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if goods fail to be of acceptable quality
and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Any claim under this warranty must be made within 2 years of the date of purchase of
the product. To make a claim under the warranty; at your own expense take the
product (with proof of purchase – receipt or similar) to the store where you purchased
the product or contact Brilliant Lighting at the address below.
