New X1 using Digital Call Entry Panels and a VA/01 PSU - Quick Start Manual Programming

To successfully install a door entry system you will need to have at least one of all of the following items, 1 x
Entry Panel, 1 x VA/01 Power Supply and 1 x Monitor Handset. If you are short of any of these items a fully
working system cannot be installed.

Pre-commissioning tests

Carry out the following test before turning on the 240VAC supply.

1. The master entry panel must be connected to B IN 1 on the VA/01.


2. Please ensure that all dip switches and jumper links on all devices have been set as per installation
drawing including the “Bus or Local” jumper and “Master or Slave” jumper on each monitor.
3. Ensure 240VAC mains is connected to all mains powered devices and that the switched fused spurs
are not turned on at this stage.
4. Ensure that the 18VDC supply is connected to all relevant devices with the correct polarity.

Turn on the mains supply at the switched fused spur if all the above tests are correct.
1. Switch on the mains power and WAIT AT LEAST ONE MINUTE before any programming to let the
system settle.
2. With the system now powered ensure that you have 18VDC at all points indicated on the installation
drawing.
3. Check across the B bus at all points for 15V to 22VDC. The B bus is not polarity conscious.

If a VSC/01 is fitted please jump to the External camera interface section before attempting any
programming.

Always program the entry panels first.

Programming systems with only one entry panel.

1. To program the entry panel press the programming button on the VA/01 PSU for 5 seconds, note that
the orange programming LED turns on. Allow the system to settle for 5 seconds before continuing.
2. Ensure that the red and blue LED’s are flashing on the entry panel.
3. Press button number 1 on the entry panel keypad and then the bell or # button, the blue LED stops
flashing, wait until the green LED lights.
4. The entry panel is now programmed; please move forward to the programming monitors section.

Programming systems with two or three entry panels.

1. To program the entry panels press the programming button on the VA/01 PSU for 5 seconds, note
that the orange programming LED turns on. Allow the system to settle for 5 seconds before
continuing.
2. Ensure that the red and blue LED’s are flashing on all entry panels.
3. Press button number 1 on the first (master) entry panel keypad and then the bell or # button, the
blue LED stops flashing, wait until the green LED lights.
4. Repeat this on all entry panels.
5. Now you should have only the green LED lit on the first (master) entry panel only, the other entry
panels have the green and blue LED’s flashing.
6. The entry panels are now programmed, please move forward to the programming monitors section.

To program the monitors carry out the following only after the entry panels have been programmed.

Ophera,
1. Press and hold simultaneously the lock release (key) button and aux 2 (shown with a porter’s hat or
double dot) until a picture appears on the screen.
2. When the picture comes on, go straight to the first (master) entry panel, enter the call number that
will be used to call that monitor on the keypad and then press the bell or # button. You hear a
confirmation tone.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 at the next monitor.
4. If this is the only monitor press the programming button on the VA/01 for less than 1 second, note the
orange LED goes off.

Audio only receivers,


1. Pick up the handset if fitted and press the lock release (key) button and aux 2 (shown with a double
dot) until audio is heard from the entry panel, do not replace the handset on the cradle.
2. Go straight to the first (master) entry panel and enter the call number that will be used to call that
audio receiver on the keypad and then press the bell or # button. You hear a confirmation tone.
Replace the handset.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 at the next audio receiver.
4. If this is the only audio receiver press the programming button on the VA/01 for less than 1 second,
note the orange LED goes off.

Lynea,
1. Pick up the handset and press the lock release (key) button and aux 2 (shown with a double dot)
until a picture appears on the screen, do not replace the handset on the cradle.
2. When the picture comes on, go straight to the first (master) entry panel, enter the call number that
will be used to call that monitor on the keypad and then press the bell or # button. You hear a

confirmation tone.

4. If this is the only monitor press the programming button on the VA/01 for less than 1 second, note the
orange LED goes off.

Mitho,
1. Press the setup button, then the service button, then the monitor icon in the centre of the screen
and finally press the manual program button.
2. The Mitho monitor should display the text “Programming”.
3. On the first (master) entry panel, enter the call number that will be used to call that monitor on the
keypad and then press the bell or # button. You hear a confirmation tone and the Mitho monitor
should display “ok”.
4. Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 at the next monitor.
5. If this is the only monitor press the programming button on the VA/01 for less than 1 second, note the
orange LED goes off.

Video entry panel with separate external Camera Interface VSC/01,


This unit must be programmed before any other programming is attempted. The following procedure must
be followed.

1. Ensure the dip switch on the VSC/01 is set correctly as per your installation drawing.
2. Press the programming button on the VA/01 PSU for 5 seconds, note that the orange programming
LED turns on. On the VSC/01 the LED will flash.
3. To exit programming mode press the programming button on the VA/01 for less than 1 second, note
the orange LED goes off.

Audio entry panel with external Camera Interface VSC/01,


The VSC/01 unit will not require programming. Program the audio entry panel in the same manner as a
standard video entry panel.

To program a personal access code using the DNA or X1DK Keypad carry out the following only after the
entry panels have been programmed.

1. Fit the DNA keypad as per its instructions.


2. On the VA/01 fit the jumper link so the middle pin is linked to the “+” pin, ensure that the LED flashes
slowly on the VA/01 and that the yellow and blue LED’s are flashing on the entry panel.
3. On the entry panel press the door or * symbol and enter the new access code then press the door or
* symbol again, the entry panel should now beep.
4. Press button number 1 on the keypad and then press the bell or # button, listen for the confirmation
tone.
5. Once this has been done remove the jumper link on the VA/01, the LED stops flashing.

To remove a personal access code on the DNA or X1DK keypad.

1. On the VA/01 fit the jumper link so the middle pin is linked to the “-” pin, ensure that the LED flashes
slowly on the VA/01 and that the yellow and blue LED’s are flashing on the entry panel.
2. On the entry panel press the door or * symbol and enter the old access code then press the door or
* symbol again, listen for the confirmation beep.
3. Repeat step 2 to confirm the code removal.
4. Once this has been done remove the jumper link on the VA/01, the LED stops flashing.

The system is now programmed.

Further system adjustments if required.

To adjust the viewing angle on a monitor if required.

1. Press the programming button on the VA/01 PSU for 5 seconds, note that the orange programming
LED turns on and flashes. Allow the system to settle for 5 seconds before continuing.
2. At the monitor lift the receiver and press camera or eye button to activate the video entry panel.

3. Press the Aux 1 and Aux 2 buttons to step through the nine camera angles, replace the receiver
when the desired camera angle has been selected.

4. To exit programming mode press the programming button on the VA/01 for less than 1 second, note
the orange LED goes off.

To change the entry panel call tone melody on individual monitor.


(Not available on Nova or YC/300 receivers, Mitho monitors can be adjusted via their on screen
programming.)

1. At the monitor lift the receiver and press the handset or cradle switch button 5 times within 5 seconds,
a single audio beep will be heard to confirm programming has been accessed. On Agata receivers
press the bell button for 3 seconds, you will hear a brief tone and the LED will flash.

2. Use the Aux 2 button to scroll through the different call tone melodies, once the required tone has
been selected replace the receiver.

To change the local door bell tone melody on individual monitor.


(Not available on Nova or YC/300 receivers, Mitho monitors can be adjusted via their on screen
programming.)

1. At the monitor lift the receiver and press the handset or cradle switch button 5 times within 5
seconds, a single audio beep will be heard to confirm programming has been accessed. On Agata
receivers press the bell button for 3 seconds, you will hear a brief tone and the LED will flash.

2. Press the key button once until a double audio beep is heard.

3. Use the Aux 2 button to scroll through the local door bell tone melodies, once the required tone has
been selected replace the receiver.

To change the number of call rings on an individual monitor.


(Not available on Nova or YC/300 receivers, Mitho monitors can be adjusted via their on screen
programming.)

1. At the monitor lift the receiver and press the handset or cradle switch button 5 times within 5
seconds, a single audio beep will be heard to confirm programming has been accessed. On Agata
receivers press the bell button for 3 seconds, you will hear a brief tone and the LED will flash.

2. Press the key button twice until a treble audio beep is heard.

3. Press the Aux 2 button the number of times you require the monitor to ring, listen for the monitor to
ring the number of times you have selected.

4. Once the monitor has rung for the required number of rings selected replace the receiver.
