 Reflected Essay

Last Tuesday, December 6, 2022, we had the occasion to visit an orphanage. I was
not ready for the emotion that was going to hit me hard. As I observed, the orphanage
was very clean, and the area I visited had beautiful flowers and plants. I saw children and
some teenagers. There were more girls than boys. The children were looked after by Mrs.
Letty Mendoza, who is the founder of the orphanage. They were taking good care of the
children. The kids gave a small presentation to us visitors. I was so emotional when they
started singing; the angelic voice of the kids had set my mind, and even at age 18 years
old, I realized that I was so lucky to have loving parents. Even today, I feel the
attachment to the kids that I met in the orphanage. I am happy for the love and affection
that a child shows, even though we don't share the same blood.

The smile on their faces brings me an immense amount of joy. I am so glad that I
could bring them some relief. Coming back to the orphanage, I was sad to see the small
children without parents. I pray to God that each of the children should get adopted into a
good home and get the love and care of their parents that they deserve. I met a very cute
baby boy, and I think that all of us should visit an orphanage and see the beautiful
children who are thirsty for our love. Let us all try to do something for these lovely
angels. Visiting them will rid us of all depressions and frustrations and give a new
meaning to our lives.

I realized that Life becomes more meaningful when you encounter less privileged
people. If life has been fair to you, it makes sense to give back to those who do not have
it. We should love and share our blessings with everyone. My visit to the orphanage was
a fulfilling experience for me, as I came back home with not only memories but also
some valuable lessons. I have reflected that we must give importance to the things that
we have. Always be thankful for the blessings that we receive every day and be content
with the life that we have. Especially in today's generation, many teenagers are not giving
value to the things they have. After visiting the orphanage, I started appreciating the little
things in life when you see people who don't have them. Always appreciate the bigger
picture of life.
