Module 14 Forum 1

What do you think about the current agrarian system? How have their lives changed (or
not changed) by the land reforms that have been implemented throughout the years?
 an agrarian system is the fluid combination of economic and technological
elements that has
an impact on agricultural operations. . An agrarian system is influenced by
political concerns as
well because of issues with land ownership, labor unions, and types of
agriculture. According to
estimates, 75% of the nation's poor reside in rural areas. There are at least 13
million Filipinos
who live in rural areas who are poor, according to the official rural poverty
incidence rate of 38%
(compared to 14% for urban areas).
Originally meant to restore the dignity and improve the lives of the then 10
million-strong rural labor
force by transforming them into owner-cultivators and productive citizens, the
watered-down CARP/ER
and its skewed implementation have instead aggravated rural inequalities and
brought about stagnation
in the countryside. After 26 years of carrying on an agrarian reform program
intended to liberate the
objective is to free varieties (tenants and agricultural laborer) from enslavement
to aristocratic
landowners. elusive, having no apparent end in sight. The program and its
fundamental tenets, as well as
the entire socioeconomic environment in which such an equity-oriented and
social justice-based
program functions, may need to undergo a full revamp.
