EXERCISE 2.2 RHOETICAL ANALYSIS

The "Speech of Her Excellency Corazon C. Aquino, President of the Philippines During the Joint
Session of the United States Congress" was delivered in Washington, D.C., on September 18,
1986, by Corazon C. Aquino, who’s the leader of the revolution that took down the presidency
of Marcos and led to the freedom of the Filipinos. In her speech, she addressed facts about the
experiences of Filipinos. About the suffering and debt that the country experienced during the
dictator’s presidency.

Believing that every argument can be solved through peaceful talks. The delivery of her speech
was really informative because she gave information about what happened to our country at
that time. But above all, she first talked about his late husband, Ninoy Aquino, and his death.
And how his death became the rebirth of the nation. But then the trials and hardships of the
country were greatly addressed because of Marcos.

Her speech was full of history about their time. I think her speech has a great impact on the
history of the Philippines because it creates a timeline, provides evidence, and provides
answers to the questions that we or most people ask about why and what happened during
those times. Because today, it is very controversial for us about the said revolution. Thus, her
speech gives us the very detail we need to analyze the past. Cory is very promising with her
words. After what she has done for the revolution, people really think highly of her.
