Artifact #1 Essay

The Reason why I chose this artifact is because I am really proud of my work that I had

made in my 11th grade year. In my Humanities class we worked on a year long project called “

The Inquiry project”. This project allowed for us to express creative freedom and allowed us to

pick a question on anything we wanted as long as it utilizes inquiry. Inquiry means to ask and to

make an investigation for information, each person made their own personal investigation based

on the question they chose. The question I chose was “What is The History of Language”, this all

stemmed from my personal curiosity based on language itself. I wanted to know more about it so

I conducted my year long research. My research has led me to discover that language changes

due to human evolution, there are about 7,111 spoken languages but about 573 known extinct

languages. This project helped me in my growth by allowing me to think outside of the box and

allow my curiosity take me to discover different types of knowledge.
