Abstract:

In this project we have planned to make 2D plotting machine by using laser and pen.
Paper is used for plotting with pen and wooden board is used for plotting with focusable laser. It is an
multi purpose working tool by adjusting pen and lasers. Plotting images or text is the main objective
of this project. It is used by school students , college students , craft smith etc. It is an ardunio based
project . ATmega 328p is an microcontroller in ardunio. By using ardunio - uno we have to design 2D
vector plotter using focusable laser and pen. The Arduino plotter machine has been dependent on
the principle of Computer Numerical Control with limited area depends. Basically, the system of this
plotter machine is modeling by solid work software to work with three axes stepper motors , these three
stepper motors are controlled by A4988 drivers. These drivers control the movement of stepper motor.
This machine’s movement was controlled by stepper motors. Three type of stepper motors are used here.
The left and right movement was controlled by X axis stepper motor, front-back movement was
controlled by Y axis stepper motor and the pen or lasers is up-down that is controlled by Z axis
stepper motor. This is the main abstract of this project.

The Plotters are big in size compared to old printers.

They are quite expensive.
The plotters are large in size, therefore, need massive space for installation.
Some plotters make noise while printing.
A plotter needs heavy maintenance.
The plotters are not for home use like printers.
They are not portable due to their huge size cannot locate them from one location to another.
Plotters are used in printing agencies where they design and develop giant banners, signboards,
signboards, and billboards.
