Run on e-line, the EZ CUTTER instrument is the ultimate cutting technology that enables
clean and perfectly controlled cuts without using explosives, chemicals or other expensive
Work-Over alternatives. Simplifying transportation, logistics and safety issues, EZ CUTTER
can now be deployed on any logging unit. Its only significant requirement is conductive Inclinometer,

Changing the position of leaching strings when developing salt caverns or re-accessing
underground works with bent/collapsed pipes are often delicate and costly combined
operations. The availability of a small size instrument able to cut both inner and outer

Before running EZ CUTTER, an EXPLORER run is always recommended to confirm the

completion, to evaluate the best position to cut and to avoid risks.

After anchoring the instrument inside the casing, a quick operation to remove rust and
scale deposits is initiated before supplying the electrodes with power. A controlled groove
starts and deepens with time until the first perforated zone is identified. A penetration
regulator then avoids the electrodes to be stuck before the end of the cut.

Latest improvements concern the duration that is now reduced, a DSCL to correlate depth
and to confirm the cut, an accelerometer to know the exact time the cut is complete,
higher P & T° capabilities and the connection on any standard mono-conductor cased hole
logging unit.

At last, the combination EXPLORER - EZ CUTTER - SONAR within the “FLODIM Cavity
Suite” is of significant interest when it comes to save time and to reduce global
intervention cost.
