A thin rod of length L =5 m carries a uniform charge density λ =4μC/m along its length.

a) Determine the electric potential at point P.

b) Find the work that must be done by an external force to bring a point q=-2μC charge from
infinity to the point P. (k=9x109 Nm2/C2)

A solid insulating sphere with radius a has a total positive charge +Q distributed

uniformly throughout it. The sphere is inside a concentric conducting spherical

shell of inner radius b and outer radius c. The spherical shell has excess charge +2Q.

a) Find the potential V at r=c and r=b.

b) Find the potential at r=a
c) Find the potential at r=0 (at the center of the solid insulatin sphere)
