II. SELF REFLECTION AND EVALUATION

Name of Student: Alyssa Mae Molita Israel

Role: Contribution Committee
Reflection:
I’ve come to understand three things from working on our community
organizing project. First and foremost, teamwork it became very crucial
because without it, we wouldn’t have produced all of these results. We
have the opportunity to collaborate with the locals and their Brgy. Officials
from addressing the complicated issues that are affecting their rural
community. We, as social work students, are able to allow for a wider and
more thorough awareness of the demands and difficulties that rural
communities face. We, social work students gained a broader viewpoint on
how we are to solve social challenges, which helped us come up with more
effective treatments by combining the knowledge we got from practicing
this profession with that which we applied from diverse disciplines most
specially the place where we conducted our Community Organizing. We
combined our efforts, sharing our knowledge, and worked cooperatively and
so we were able to make a larger disparity in the rural community of Brgy.
Taligaman. It happened because we collaborate, and as a result we have
accomplish more than we could individually, fostering greater growth and
communal development.

Second thing I learn on how we are able to gain the participation of the
community people, things we did with the community people was
community mobilization, outreach, and engagement as well as collaboration
and partnership. I have learned that enlisting the assistance of community
members in problem-solving calls for the adoption of a shared, inclusive,
and participatory strategy that gives priority to their viewpoints and needs.
By utilizing a variety of engagement and capacity-building approaches, we,
social worker students did play a significant role in enabling the process.

The importance of community members using tools to measure and solve

problems was the last point. We social work students using an array of tools
and approaches to encourage community involvement and assess community
issues. Overall, these strategies and tools did assist us in involving people in
the community in the effort of recognizing and solving their local issues and
ensuring that treatments are customized to the particular requirements and
viewpoints of the community. We social work students think that by
emphasizing community involvement, we may contribute to the
development of more durable, resilient, and empowering communities.

III. WAYS FORWARD. What is/are your next plan/s/move for your
community/group?
We recommend that on behalf of the community people, the Purok
President will address or raise this concern with the barangay about their
problem with the public road. Once the barangay captain receives the letter,
the barangay secretary will be asked by the barangay captain to make a letter
asking the Equi-parco company for their counterpart. Hence, the Purok
chairwoman will gather her people for the exact purpose of a meeting to
discuss actions to take, along the lines of volunteerism, once the gravel arrives.
On the other hand, another alternative like a project proposal for road
concreting is also encouraged.

We WORK with the PEOPLE.

NOTE: EVERY ACTIVITY CONDUCTED FROM THE GROUP STUDY REPORT MUST HAVE A PROJECT
REPORT.
