BEKA Xmatic Controller S

Description
The BEKA Xmatic S control unit is used for controling
single line systems. The lubricant is supplied to the
metering distributors via one main line. This line is
pressure relieved after the lubrication process.
Please see chapter 03 of our industrial catalogue for
basic information about single-line lubrication.

Change of the parameters

The operational modes (cycle time and
lubrication time), the additional functions and
the setting ranges can be changed by means of
the BEKA-DiSys diagnosis software.

When the operational mode of the lubrication time is

changed. The same goes for changes of the setting

range of cycle or lubrication time.

These stickers can be ordered at BEKA.

Function
The integrated electronic EP-tronic control unit has a
data memory. It serves for the storage of expired
parameters, among other things. When the supply
voltage is interrupted during lubrication or a cycle,
the cycle time, lubrication time, the number of
lubrication cycles, resp. the revolutions is stopped
and recorded. As soon as the supply voltage is
provided again, the remaining lubrication or cycle
time is read from the memory and the operational
sequence is continued from where it has been
interrupted.

Intermediate lubrication
With provided voltage you can any time activate an
intermediate lubrication by actuation of the push
button at the lower motor shell of the pump, for e.g.
checking the function after a change of the
parameters. The pump will immediately start with a
new lubrication cycle then. The expired or stored
lubrication or cycle time is resetted and starts anew.

After remedy of the cause for malfunction, the error

State: 01.16EN

signal can be resetted by triggering an intermediate

lubrication.

Change of the parameters

The operational modes (cycle time and
lubrication time), the additional functions and
the setting ranges can be changed by means of
the BEKA-DiSys diagnosis software.

When the operational mode of the lubrication time is

changed from e.g. time-dependent to clock-

dependent or the other way round, the sticker in the
inspection window of the control also has to be
changed. The same goes for changes of the setting
range or cycle or lubrication time.

The sticker in the inspection window should also be

changed in the case of alterations of the lubrication
mode, e.g. from time-dependent to stroke-
dependent or if the setting range has been changed.

The corresponding stickers can be ordered at BEKA.

Function
The integrated electronic GIGA-tronic control unit
has a data memory. It serves for the storage of
expired parameters, among other things. When the
supply voltage is interrupted during lubrication or a
cycle, the cycle time, lubrication time, the number of
lubrication cycles, resp. the revolutions is stopped
and recorded. As soon as the supply voltage is
provided again, the remaininig lubrication or cycle
time is read from the memory and the operational
sequence is continued from where it has been
interrupted.

Intermediate lubrication
With provided voltage you can any time activate an
intermediate lubrication by actuation of the push
button above the inspection window of the control at
the motor cover, for e.g. checking the function after a

Change of the parameters

The particular parameters like operational
modes (cycle time and lubrication time),
additional functions and setting ranges can be
adapted or changed at the M 12 bushing after the
BEKA-DiSys diagnosis software has been
connected (see scheme „connections of the
control“).

Intermediate lubrication
With applied voltage, an intermediate lubrication can
any time be triggered at the operation panel below
the display, even with the interlock function being
active (see „release / interlock function“). You might
want to do so e.g. for checking the function after a
change of the parameters. The pump will
immediately start a lubrication cycle then. The
expired or stored data by then is reset and started
anew.

After remedy of the cause for malfunction, the error

signal can be reset by triggering an intermediate
lubrication.

Level monitoring
On customer request, the pumps can also be
equipped with an electronic level monitoring function
for minimum level.

Ensure that the corresponding sensor is available

when ordering the GIGA-multitronic with level
monitoring. Otherwise the control will signal mal-
function due to the missing level sensor.

Clock cycle control

The cycle time can also be defined by clock pulses

e.g. to the lubrication pinion. . It sends an impulse to
the control with each revolution. The incoming
pulses are counted by the control and lubrication is

clock pulses.

The following additional functions can be evaluated: For the integrated electronic control device GIGA-
- release- / interlock function multitronic there is the possibility to stop the pump
- overpressure monitoring (Pmax.) (e.g. during standstill of the unit to be lubricated) by
- external status signals for errors and warnings means of the control voltage and without interrupting
- monitoring of line-break or cable-break the supply voltage.

You have to select for the operating mode whether

the release-/interlock function should be active or
not, i.e. if it is evaluated by the control or not (see
table).

Cycle time recording might be stopped if „release-

is a signal used, provide by the customer, e.g. SPS
(input clock cycle monitoring).

For „release“, the lubrication process is stopped by
interruption of the control voltage.
For „interlock“, the lubrication process is stopped
by applying the control voltage.

Furthermore you can select from the functions

lubrication start and cycle start, both with or
without lubrication process interruption (see table).

A line-break monitoring, attached to the progressive

the lubrication line, from the distributor to the lube
point. There are sensors integrated into the line-
break monitoring. They send a signal as long as the
pressure in the line is maintained. If pressure falls,
the signal will stop. At the end of the adjusted number
of starting cycles (2 as a standard) and after the
adjusted monitoring time (1 min. as a standard), the
control indicates malfunction.

The starting cycles (= the first cycles after the supply

voltage has been applied) serve for safety purposes.
Should the pressure in the system drop, e.g. if it has
been switched off during night, the system will need
one or two lubrication cycles to build up the pressure
again and the sensors will start sending a signal as
soon as they detect it. This especially goes for longer
lubrication lines. If pressure is not built up within the
starting cycles and the monitoring time which starts
after them, the control will indicate malfunction.
However, lubrication is continued in this case, as the
other lube points are still lubricated. State: 01.16EN

The following additional functions can be evaluated: For the integrated electronic control device GIGA-
- release-/interlock function multitronic there is the possibility to stop the pump
- external status signals for errors and warnings (e.g. during standstill of the unit to be lubricated) by
means of the control voltage and without interrupting
the supply voltage.

You have to select for the operating mode whether

the release-/interlock function should be active or
not, i.e. if it is evaluated by the control or not (see

Cycle time recording might be stopped if „release-

is a signal used, provided by the customer, e.g. SPS

Choose now whether the signal operates as

„release“ or „interlock“.
For „release“, the lubrication process is stopped by
interruption of the control voltage.
For „interlock“, the lubrication process is stopped
by applying the control voltage.

Furthermore you can select from the functions

lubrication process interruption (see table).

The integrated electronic GIGA-multitronic control
differentiates between error signal and warning.
Both are indicated on the display of the control,
signalled by flashing display lights.
In case of an error, the pump will be switched off by

immediately. The pump will continue operation, if

only a warning is displayed (e.g. exceeded
monitoring time). However, the cause for the warning
has to be remedied as soon as possible.

Two status signals can be evaluated by the GIGA-

multitronic, optionally as error or warning signal
(standard) or as OK-signal.

Error signal means that a permanent signal is

displayed in the case of an error, like
e.g.
a level error,
no pressurization during monitoring time,
pressure drop during relubrication time,
no pressure relief during break time.

Warning signal means output of a permanent signal

when the control displays a warning e.g.
exceeded monitoring time for clock cycles.

OK-signal means that the permanent signal is

interrupted in the case of an error or warning.
