Essay 1 Metacognition Assignment (50 points)


Metacognition: awareness and understanding of one's own thought processes.

For this assignment, you will be examining and correcting the errors throughout your Essay 1.
In order to receive full points for this assignment, you will need to complete/answer ALL of the activities and questions below.

Once all activities/questions below are completed thoroughly, you will be RESUMBITTING
your CORRECTED Essay 1 for a higher score (maximum 20 points).      

If all of the components below are not completed fully, you will not receive the full maximum of 20 points.

Essay 1. After each goal, explain, in your own words, how your NEW CORRECTIONS/UPDATES
helped you to achieve that goal. Then copy/paste in one specific example from your
essay, rather than merely explaining what you did. For example, if one of your GOALS was to
construct a clear thesis statement and you revised your Essay 1 by rewriting your thesis statement,
explain how you went about rewriting your thesis and then copy/paste the NEW thesis next
to your explanation.

11   Review (in question #7 from the Essay 1 Feedback Reflection) the three steps to achieving 2
your OWN GOAL. Complete ONE of those steps NOW. AFTER your goal (at the top of Essay 1)
explain what specific actions you took to complete one of your steps.

12   Address all of the highlights and comments that you DO NOT know how to correct by scheduling a 10
conference with Prof. Nava or a one-on-one session with Alexia to discuss your essay. You may also book an
appointment with the Mt. SAC Writing Center, or use the "Online Tutoring"/”NetTutor” services in Canvas
(Drop In Session or Paper Drop Off are available) to proof and further correct your revised Essay 1,
