Tell me about yourself.

ANS: My name is Koti Naveen Chakravarthy. I am a ex-TCS employee. I did my under graduation
on computer science and engineering from P.V.P Siddhartha Institute of Technology. I want to
pursue my masters in computer science from University of Texas at Arlington.

WHY UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?

Why do you wish to study in USA and not in India?

 ANS: Although Indian education is good but As per U.S.I.E.F United States- India
Educational Foundation, US education is 6 years ahead of the rest of the world.
 A degree from reputed US University has great value and is recognized all over the world
including India. This can help me getting a best job opportunity in multinational
companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft etc.

 Change the first point as it is a very common one

EX: US Universities offer a perfect blend of both theoretical and practical based education
system. It being a globally opted study destination, studying in US classroom will help me gain
cutting edge knowledge levels and have a hands-on practical knowledge when I compare myself
to any other Indian student. It will be helpful for me to develop my intrapersonal skills while
exchanging ideas with people of different mindsets

Why did you select US for higher studies? Isn't this course offered by any university or colleges
inIndia?
ANS: Compared to other countries, the American education system can be marked as
advanced and unique. They have a flexible curriculum which allows students from
different academic background to choose their preferred courses.
Education in US is focused both on theory as well as practical knowledge along with
extra/co-curricular activities. Although Indian education system is good but it is highly
focused on theoretical and less focused on practical knowledge which is lacking in most
of the students.
 What is the purpose of your trip?
ANS: Purpose of my trip is to complete my masters in computer science from university of texas
at arlington.

 Have you ever been toUS?

 ANS: No I’ve never been to US. This was my first time going to US
No officer this could be my first visit

Which US University are you planning to goto? ANS: I’m planning to go to University of Texas at
Arlingtion

Can you tell me some details aboutyouruniversity? ANS: It is one of the reputed universities in
the US. It is ranked as reputed tier one university in texas state.

programs this university offers in UG and PG, Student Faculty Ratio and atleast two or
three professor names who are dealing with your course
If you are counter questioned why is the student and faculty ratio an important factor for you?
yes officer, the student faculty ratio is an important factor for me being an international
student as a less sized classroom will let me have a direct approach towards my faculty in case
of any queries or concerns.

Why have you chosen this specificuniversity?. ANS: This university offers me flexible curriculum
in computer science. It has the subjects of my preference.

serves to get a degree from this university
Can you tell me the location of theuniversity/college? ANS: It is located in Arlington which is
near to dallas city , Texas state .

How did you find aboutthis University? ANS: I did some internet research based on my academic
qualifications and test scores. I was recommended by friends who are living in us.
I came to know about the university through niche website and i have read all the
 reviews of the former students and present students about the university and the
professor. I am impressed of how dedicated they are making sure that students succeed. I
fell in love with the campus when i virtually toured it.

How many US universities did you apply for? (Both admitsandrejects) ANS: I had applied 7
universities. I have 4 admissions and 2 rejections and 1 admit under review.
I have applied to 5 Universities- Remove the two who rejected

Did you receive any scholarships? ANS: I have received scholarship for one semester about
$1250.

What course are you going for? ANS: planning for masters in computer science

Why did you select this course? Is it relevant to your previous studies? ANS: I selected this
course because it helps in building my career in software industry. Also, yes It is relevant to my
previous studies as I did my under graduation in computer science and engineering.

How long will your studies last? Ans: The academic duration of my masters course is about 2
years in which each year of 9 months.

What is the scope of yourcourse? ANS: I have chosen data science as my majors. In upcoming
days it is going to have very good scope all over the world. In return it could help me getting my
dream job in India.
Also mention the job roles or the designations you can aim in India and also name a few
companies who can offer you these designations.

What do you plan to study attheuniversity? ANS: Planning to study data science as it has very
good potential in the upcoming days

Where did you do your last course of study? ANS: I did my Bachelors in Computers science from
PVPSIT

What is your specialization? ANS: My specialization is Bachelors in Computer Science and

Engineering.

What is your High School, Degree or Master's percentage orgrade? ANS: I secured 8.23 CGPA
out of 10 in bachelors.
What are your subjects in last course of study (High School, Degree orMaster's)? ANS: During my
high school subjects were maths, physics, chemistry and during my bachelors dbms, cd,os ,

Why are you planning for Masters now? ANS: I wanted to have some industrial knowledge so I
did my job in an MNC and now I want to improve my skills. That’s why I’m planning for masters
now.

Why your TOEFL / IELTS are score low? ANS: I was well prepared for my IELTS exam but it was
just a bad day for me and for some reason I could not manage to calm myself as I was a bit
nervous, but on the basis of this score I did manage to get admits in these Universities.

Don’t agree that your scores are low tell that your scores are satisfactory which helped you get
into a decent university

What does your father do? ANS: My father is a Govt Teacher.

How many brothers and sisters doyouhave? ANS: I have only one brother.

What is your father's annualincome? ANS: My father’s annual income is approximately 12Lakhs
per annum(11,98,800) which is $15k

SPONSOR AND FINANCIAL DETAIL

Have you got anyloans? ANS: I have taken education Loan, that covers my Tuition fee.(45Lakhs =
$57k) for two years.

What are the sources of income of your sponsor? ANS: My parents are my sponsers. Both are
working as govt teachers
Sources means the ways of getting income to the family like Job, Rentals, Agricultural income etc
What proof do you have that your sponsor can supportyourstudies?. Ans Both my parents are
government teachers having 24Lakhs as annual income.

Who is paying for your education and what is his/herincome? Ans: My parents are paying and
their annual income is 24lpa which is $30k

Who is sponsoringyou?Could you please show me the passbook orbankstatements? ANS: My

parents are sponsoring. Yes, please have a look at the passbook and bank statements.

How many people are dependents of yoursponsor? ANS: two, my brother and I.

Add about siblings if they are not earning ANS: My brother is studying degree final year and he
is appearing for UPSC examinations.

How much money is available for your stay inUS? ANS: approximately 16 lakhs which is
equivalent to $20k

How will you finance your education funds for 2 years? (Generally you have to prove that you
can fund the first year of education but we suggest that you beprepared
  with this answer). ANS: My family is going to sponsor me. I also have taken education Loan,
that covers my Tuition fee.(45Lakhs = $57k)

 My family has a total income of approximately INR 24LPA which is approximately $30k

 Also My father and mother has an liquid assets in saving A/C approximately INR 17lakhs
which is approximately $21k.

 That is more than sufficient to take care of my total expenses of 2 years.

FUTURE PLANS (CAREER PROSPECTS)-

What are you plans after completingyourstudies? Or Have you researched your careerprospects?
ANS: I want to secure my career in top MNCs of India.

How much money can you earn after your completionofstudies? ANS : After completion , in
todays job market I could get atleast 30% more than those with only a bachelor’s degree.

What are your future plans after completion of your studies? ANS: Securing a datascience job in
MNCs like google,amazon,microsoft.

Do you intend to work in US during or after completion ofyour studies? Ans: my parents are
financially strong so I don’t have intentions to work full time or part time in US.
My only focus is on completing the bachelors with good grades and utilize this degree
back in my country and moreover I have sufficient funds to take care of my expenses

How can you prove that you will come back after finishing yourstudies? ANS: My intention was
to complete masters in US. Also, my parents are financially strong so I don’t need to work full
time or part time in US. As I have an education loan I need to repay that so definitely I will come
back after finishing my studies

I am aware that US Degree has a very high recognition back in my country and I with a US
degree in hand will be given priority when I step to my dream MNCs like ………... in India. I
being the elder son to my parents I have lot of social responsibilities to fulfill and hence I
would like to start my career in India staying connected with my family.

Do you have any relatives in the US? ANS: No, I don’t have any relatives in US

Do you know anyone (in USA) in your University? ANS: I have one friend from my undergraduate
college in UTA.

VISA OR REFUSAL

Why should I grant you U.S. Visa?

ANS: Well thank you, I will try to give my best in my Masters/Bachelors
I believe I have satisfied the admissions requirements and I have been granted admission
in the decent University where am financially fit to study. I believe I can be given an
opportunity to prove myself and pursue my career.

What will you do if your US Visa is rejected?

ANS: I am a genuine student, but in an unfortunate case where you decide to reject my student
Visa application, I will apply again as I am very much determined to study at US for the course of
masters in computer science and I have heard that genuine students are not disappointed at the
embassy but you are the ultimate judge.
MISCELLANEOUS

Have you ever visited any othercountry? ANS: No, I haven’t visited any country.

Will you come back to home during summers? ANS: I will come back if necessary.

What will you do during the off period/semester? ANS: I will travel and explore new places.

If the vacations are for a shorter period, I will explore the places of interest nearby my campus
and if the vacations are for a longer period then I would like to come back to India and spend
some quality time with friends and family.
