Department Information – Technology & Creative Arts

Food Technology, Graphics, Art, and Music are taught on a rolling carousel programme at Key Stage
3, with all students experiencing equal time in each curriculum area. Drama lessons are taught
fortnightly in Years 7 and 8, and weekly in Year 9. Pupils can opt to select these subjects at Key Stage
4. The music course that is currently being delivered is BTEC Tech Award in Music Practice. The
successful candidate would be joining a flourishing and successful department that is at the forefront
of innovative teaching and learning, with supportive leadership and the opportunity to lead and
develop the Music department and the extra-curricular programme. The music department
contributes significantly to the Catholic ethos of the school, providing music for collective worship.
Technology & Creative Arts are well resourced, and the music department includes a suite of Apple
Macs, keyboards, guitars, ukuleles, and samba instruments.
