Analysis Report

To begin with the Rizal's poem "Sa Aking Kabata" it emphasizes the importance of one's
mother tongue and the need for a nation's love for it. It is a symbol of freedom and identity,
and should not be seen as substandard to others. Moreover, Multiperspectivity is the way of
looking at historical events, personalities, developments, cultures, and societies from
different perspectives. Historical writing is biased and partial, and historians may omit facts
or impose an ideology. Understanding history is important to determine whether a given
history is factual or not, as each person has different perspectives. Furthermore,
Multiperspectivity and the "Sa Aking mga Kabata" poem by Dr. Jose Rizal emphasize the
importance of our own language and dialect for our country's development.

Explain the definition Geoffrey Barraclough in history by providing examples

Geoffrey Barraclough defines history as “the attempt to discover, on the basis of fragmentary
evidence, the significant things about the past.” He also notes “the history we read, though
based on facts, is strictly speaking, not factual at all, but a series of accepted judgements. For
example, through learning and experience, Filipino culture teaches children about the past.
Our history needs to be taught and discovered in order to enrich our society and culture.

What is the significance of multi-perspectivity in reading the Philippine history? explain your answer
by citing examples

The idea of multiperspectivity is that history is interpretive and subjective, with multiple
coexisting narratives. It entails viewing historical events, personalities, and cultural and
societal developments from various angles. By definition, historical writing is biased and may
contain preconceptions. Historians must examine multiple sources to identify ambiguities
and focus on one side of the story in order to produce accurate interpretations. The example
of this is the Martial Law.

What is the message of the Code of Kalantiaw and Sa Aking mga Kabata in historical interpretation?
Explain your answer.

The Code of Kalantiaw and Sa Aking mga Kabata are two texts historically interpreted in many
ways, both of which are forgeries or fabrications, but are seen as vital historical records that
light Philippine history and culture. The Code is believed to have been created to encourage
justice and respect for human dignity, while the poem is seen as an appeal to young people to
be proud of their cultural heritage and work for a better future for the Philippines. Jose Rizal
wrote the poem when he was eight, which has been interpreted in several ways, with some
academics claiming it reflects his love for his country and his devotion to social justice, while
others regard it as a display of national pride.
