Q: Traffic Safety Education, how it works to lessen the occurrence of unwanted

injuries and destruction properties due to vehicular incident?

Answer:

Traffic Safety Education is a type of education that mainly involves the proper

dissemination of Road Rules and Regulations and understanding of many aspects of

being a road user. Traffic Education helps everyone to be safe, follow rules and

regulations to ensure that everyone is aware of many elements the road have to avoid

unwanted incidents or accidents. According to MMDA, in 2021 there are a total of

58,447 total no, of vehicular incidents in Metro Manila hence 48.11% of it are cars

second with 23.85% are motorcycles. Statistica (2021)

MMDA are also aware of most type of incidents are rear-ends and side-swipe that is

caused by “Negligence” (TopgearPH 2021) commonly as either Human or mechanical

error due to poor Maintenance. It is very unlikely that these injured and killed victims to

be alive if proper care and education is given to motorist such motorcycle in a hurry

would be into lane splitting or lane filtering just to get ahead in traffic risking their lives

and other road users in danger causing 41 riders in a daily average of the year 2021 (

TopGearPh)
Ignorance of Law, Road Signs and loss of Discipline can be corrected with proper

education and discipline. A simple unrecognized road sign may cause incidents, using

phone while driving distracts the driver in his focus in the road. Also education of

violations and law will also minimize the risk of drivers committing a traffic violation or

better incidents as they will be either afraid of the fine or become aware of what is

prohibited and allowed.
