Metaphysics-

 this word is used by the editor of Aristotle’s work Andronicus. Meta means after and physics

means the science of physical world. it is why the literal meaning of metaphysics is the

science of the world beyond physics.

 Metaphysics is also called ontology. Ontology is the science of Being.

 Being means ultimate reality. Some philosophers make distinction between metaphysics and

ontology, but in contemporary era, they are used in a similar manner in philosophical

writings.

 However, Aristotle has given name first philosophy to his work because he has described the

first principles of word in that.

 Now many philosophers use this word metaphysics for branch of philosophy. Physics is

limited to the physical object whereas metaphysics talks about the truth behind these

physical things, which is the substratum of such physical world.

 In contemporary world, metaphysics is a branch of philosophy, which explains the first cause

or original stuff behind is universe.

 What is the fundamental stuff behind this universe? What is the nature of it?, Are some

important question in that we study in metaphysics.

 We experience that the sun rotates and earth is stable. However, the reality is different from

this because in reality, the earth rotates and the sun is stable. Experience proofs through

 In the process to understand ultimate reality, another question arises about the world: the

apparent form of the world is its real form or something else is the real form. (In other

words, the world is the same what it appears to be, or the reality is something else.), This
