Plan of Investigation

I decided on the topic, ‘How severe can physical abuse be on an individual’ from my group’s

theme, Abuse. I chose this topic, because there are plenty of people who have experienced this

type of abuse and are looking for a solution out of it.. I expect to improve my research,writing

and vocabulary skills and the ability to accurately analyze and critically interpret information.

This will be accomplished by identifying the writer's method of presenting the issue and

identifying main ideas, which will be presented in my oral presentation.

Reflection 2
My topic under the general theme, abuse, was exploring ‘ How severe can Physical Abuse

impact an individual’. The abstract ‘Physical Abuse’( U.S. (HHS), 1991) was based on how

victims can identify if they're going through abuse, find solutions out of it and its effect on

women’s health. Reading this abstract made me more aware of the symptoms of this abuse and

gave me an insight of the best solutions possible.

The news article by unknown (TIMESOFINDIA, 2022) gave the point of view of a victim

herself who has experienced physical abuse and explained the horrible acts the antagonist did

unto her.The article helped me to better comprehend abuse, because it's coming from a direct

individual to went through this experience. Coming from a victim, I began to undestand The

author utilizes emotive use of language to entice the reader’s emotions, so that the reader can

sympathize for the victim.

The third piece of material I chose was a video that highlighted the types, symptoms and

treatment of physical abuse. This gave me a clearer understanding of the topic and also improved

my research skills.
