    This document reviews related literature on disciplinary differences in students' perceptions towards e-learning. The study examined students from different disciplines and their use of technology in everyday life and for learning. Results showed that while students' daily technology use did not vary greatly by discipline, there were differences in their confidence levels using technology and experiences employing communication tools for learning. Specifically, students in applied fields had more experience using web-based tools than those in pure disciplines. The literature concludes that students cannot be generalized as having uniform digital capabilities and that their understanding of technology differs depending on their discipline.
