Types
Zero Conditional – to talk about the facts, everyday activities. Actions that are
real, posible to happen. It describes scientific facts or facts that are true.
If + Present Simple, +Present Simple
When + Present simple + Modal (can/could/might/must)
If you boil wáter until 100°c it evaporates.
If it rains, I carry my umbrella.
When Anne studies hard for the exams, she can get better results in the test

Types

First Conditional – It predicts posible outcomes of present actions. The if clause


talks about the condition, and the result clause talks about the consequences.
You can use modal verbs in your sentences. You can start the sentence with the
If clause or with the consequence.
If + Present Simple + Future Simple
If + Present Simple + be going to
If the weather is good, I will go for a walk
If I see dark clouds, I am going to take an umbrela in case of rain.

To consider

You can use “if” and “unless”, but their meanings are different.
Unless is used to state a negative condition.
(Unless you are superstitious, you won’t be afraid of black cats)
Use a comma after the if clause.
You can replace “if” with “when” especially when talking about
general truths.
(When you heat ice cubes, they melt)
