Meta Description
Born and raised in Arkansas, as mayor I will be looking to implement policies that will improve
our school systems and city infrastructure. I pride myself on being transparent while being
constantly engaged with the community and listening to their concerns.
Learn About Me
Hi, folks! My name is Braden Rainey and I am looking to become the next mayor of
Little Rock, Arkansas. I was born and raised here, which is a big reason why I am
hoping to become a new leader in this community and use my influence to improve our
city!
Background
As a child, growing up in Little Rock was fun, but it also had its challenges. When I was
in elementary school, I often found myself with nothing to eat at lunch because I couldn’t
afford school lunches, which made it really difficult for me to focus in class. This
hardship I experienced as a child is the main motivation behind my policy, which I will
discuss later, regarding school lunches. If I were fortunate enough to not experience this
problem as a child, I’m not sure if I would have been aware of how common this issue is
for children all across the country. During my teenage years, I lost over half a dozen
friends/classmates to gun violence.
My Policies
Recreational Centers
● To get our youth focused and on track when they are away from school, I will aim to put
more of our funds towards recreational facilities, such as boys and girls clubs, for kids to
be able to access, free of charge, all throughout the year. The hope is for this policy to
decrease crimes among juveniles and keep our youth active within their community, and
ultimately prepare them for a bright future.
Repairing City Infrastructure
● One of my biggest issues with our city, and something that frustrates me as an average
citizen just like you all, is the number of potholes in our roads. It’s an annoying problem
that I am sure we all encounter on an everyday basis, and I’m even sure for some
people it results in damage to their vehicles. Because of this, I will be looking to
implement a policy in which the public can access a link on our city website to request
fixes for potholes. All you have to do is click the link and state the street where the
potholes are located, and from there, we will prioritize the locations that are requested
the most and send work crews out to fix them as soon as possible.
Closing
In short, if you want a leader in your community that is willing to be transparent and honest with
the public, then I am your guy. When it comes to things like town halls and any questions I am
asked on social media, my team and I will do our absolute BEST to find and answer every
question our community has for us. The public’s best interest is our number one priority!
