9.3.4 Segregation between solid bulk cargoes possessing


chemical hazards
Unless otherwise required in this section or in the individual schedules for cargoes of Group B,
segregation between solid bulk cargoes possessing chemical hazards shall be according to the
following table:

Numbers relate to the following segregation terms:

2 “Separated from”:

In different holds when stowed under deck. Provided an


intervening deck is resistant to fire and liquid, a vertical
separation, i.e. in different compartments, may be accepted
as equivalent to this segregation.

3 “Separated by a complete compartment or hold from”:

Either a vertical or a horizontal separation. If the decks are


not resistant to fire and liquid, then only a longitudinal

separation, i.e. by an intervening complete compartment, is


acceptable.
