Dizon, EdD - PSDS ‘Talaingod District School Heads District and School Sports Coordinator All Other Concerned Subject: CONDUCT OF TRAINING FOR STUDENT-ATHLETES OF TALAINGOD DISTRICT FOR DIVISION MEET 2023 Date: February 28, 2023 1, In consonance with Republic Act 10588, Section 2 declares that “It is the Policy of the State to promote physical education and encourage sports programs, league competitions and amateur sports, including training for international competitions, to foster self-discipline, teamwork, and excellence for the development of a healthy and alert citizenry.” . Thus, in preparation for the 2023 Division Meet, the Department of Education-Talaingod District hereby informed the field of the conduct of Training for Student-Athletes on March 3-9, 2023 at Sto. Nifio Central Elementary School (SNCES). . Further, NO DISRUPTION of classes shall be imposed in the conduct of the activity hence all the qualified athletes and coaches will shift to a Blended Learning Modality and employ all the possible means to deliver and access quality education pursuant to DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 titled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith. The SNCES shall serve as the billeting quarter of Talaingod delegation during the conduct of the training until the last day of the 2023 Division Meet. In connection with this, some of the teachers in the aforementioned school whose classrooms will be utilized by the participants will also automatically shift to Blended Learning Modality. 6. The assigned class advisers of the student-athletes should provide a catch up plan and accomplishment report to supervise the learners’ output for the blended learning. This should also be facilitated and closely monitored by the school heads during the in-house training, and @ report will be submitted to the PSDS. 7. Moreover, due to the distance from their homes, student-athletes will stay at the venue from March 3-12, 2023, which will give them the opportunity to establish rapport with their _ co-athletes. Teachers/coaches shall monitor the safety of student-athletes and secure guardians’/parents’ consent. 8. Service credits and Compensatory Overtime Credits (COC) shall be given to the participants as per DO 53, s, 2003 and CSC and DBM Joint Circular No. 2, s. 2004 respectively. 9. Travel of the participants is chargeable against School/ Local Funds/ MOOE subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations. Participants must, however, provide their own lunch and appropriate athletic clothes. 10. In conducting the different DepEd Programs, Projects and Activities (PPA’s), Equal Opportunity Principle (EOP) and strict safety protocols shall be observed at all times.
