Middle class was enjoying a higher standard of living. More younger

people wanted to get a higher education. Women were granted the right
to vote. The Volstead Act of 1920 prohibited drinking but people made
their own machines to manufacture alcohol. People went to
speakeasies to drink illegally and dance.

and was popularized by Coco Chanel and Paul Poiret

Long pearl necklaces - pearls were associated with royalty.

Only the extremely rich could afford real pearl necklaces
