she proved that she is the female powerhouse we all need:
• Becoming the second woman in the world to give birth whilst in of ce, tackling both motherhood
and politics
• She is the youngest person to have held prime minister in 150 years.
• Ultimate inspiration to women across the world, who want to achieve their life goals while
maintaining a balance between their personal and professional lives
• Passionate advocate for women’s rights "It is a woman's decision about when they choose to have
children and it should not predetermine whether or not they have job opportunities.

• In 2022, New Zealand was ranked 4th in the world or women’s representation in parliament at
50.4% : France doesn’t even make in the top 25 in 2022

Why women should be on the same pedestal as men in politics :

• Women around the globe no longer want to an afterthought : in this day and age, women are a
minority in politics and in head of government : statistics from the The United Nations Entity for
Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (or UN Women) show that 15 countries have a
woman Head of Government. At the current rate, gender equality in the highest positions of
power will not be reached for another 130 years

• If women were in charge they would prioritise keeping families together : International studies
demonstrate that when the economy and political organisation of a society change, women take
the lead in helping the family adjust to new realities and challenges

• It must come from within to see change : by participating in every election, women have a better
chance in making it in the political eld.

• In joining all workforces together, men and women create a true political power and together
reshape this centur

• To see progress, women should challenge the status quo, because change is hard, but the
alternative is to do nothing

• “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair” - Shirley Chisholm : Having a
seat at the table provides the opportunity to participate and in uence decisions whether it be
having an impact from one’s small town or area to global issue. Indeed, the only way to change
the face of leadership is to take matters into your own hands and push to be seen.
