If you do not give life any meaning, do not worry, the market will do it for you, and you

will spend
your whole life paying monthly instalments, and you will think you are moving forward by buying
new things, and meanwhile, you will be a useless older man. The other alternative is to spend part of
your life fighting for utopia, building a better society for those who will come after you on this earth.
However, it is a conscious choice you have to make one day, and if you do not make that conscious
choice, then you will unknowingly live on the ground and believe that progress means replacing the
motorcycle with some car, then this simple car to change to "Audi" and so on. This choice has to be
made. Perhaps when you get old, and rheumatism and bone pain finally get you, one fine day, you
will look in the mirror and ask yourself: did I betray the child inside me? Despite, it will be too late..."
These words belong to the former president of Uruguay, José Mujica, with whom he addressed
attending people in 2019 in Mexico at the ceremony related to the conferment of an honorary
doctorate by the Sistema Universitario Jesuita.

I perceive myself as a citizen of a country with democratic values, an individual living in a capitalist
system. The words of Mr José Mujica are like thorns in my mind, heart and thoughts, but
remembering the past years and understanding the present, I returning to myself to self-belief
because I realize that the choice of the former president of Uruguay, which He points out to the
audience, I did it in deep childhood, still with a childish mind, with a delightful mind, which saw the
problem in the fact that the New Year was not an equally happy holiday for all his peers, not all his
peers could be proud of themselves in school with new clothes. I made a choice with a childish mind
that did not know What did the social problem mean, but time passed and thinking developed, while
the problems and my attitude towards them remained unchanged, I am convinced that every step
that I take in life is an echo of the pursuit of the goal that Mr Jose Mujica called "the fight for
utopia". The echo of striving towards this goal was the continuation of studies after graduation at
such a faculty as international relations.

I was born in Georgia, a country whose history from time immemorial is a history of wars and self-
preservation, in a country where people have endured everything that people can endure, a nation
that strives for freedom, independence, and the establishment of an equal and just society from the
economic and social point of view, in such conditions that you have an imperialist neighbour as your
neighbour. Obsessed with tendencies, covered with a mask of common faith, a neighbouring state
declared a historical enemy, which is ready to end your existence as an independent country at any
time.

Regardless of this list, I see the energy in my people and country striving for Western liberal
democracy. However, I also see people who, through various processes of history, managed to
accumulate financial capital, become economically more robust, raise their social status and take the
reins of management, playing with people's fate. As a thinking person. Who has set his goal to serve
his country? The mentioned situation may make him lose hope, but this is not the case. I am hopeful
for my generation's future, and I believe some young people love their homeland, people and the
country as much as I do.

I believe that by accumulating appropriate knowledge and getting an education, I will reach a state
where I can serve democracy and the people. I will be able to bring at least a little good to my
country and society with my actions. I believe that participation in this program and the experience
and knowledge I will get from here will help me toward my goal. Of the question: "Did I betray the
child inside me?" I will be able to give a decent answer, but not when I get old, but every day when I
wake up, I will get up and look in the mirror
