NEW MODEL S100 LOADER

Figure 1 The S100 structure is all new, including the mainframe,

transmission, lift arm and Bob-Tach™ mounting system
weldment. The mounting system locking lever
mechanism is common with larger models. The operator
cab also is common with larger models, including
common windows and front door. The front door is
equipped with the door position sensor.

[Figure 1] The new S100 loader is in production,

replacing model 553. In comparison, the S100 offers
improved capacity and performance, operator comfort,
serviceability, and attachment performance. Some key
specifications are listed below. The S100 is truly a new
model from the ground up. It shares many design

concepts with our larger loader models - tailored for this
size machine. It also features new electronics and
instrumentation that you can expect to see on future [Figure 2] The engine is a Kubota V1505 four cylinder
models. liquid cooled diesel. The engine is transverse mounted
with belt drive and a spring loaded belt tensioner.
S100 SPECIFICATIONS Planned maintenance items are easy to access just
inside the rear door. Twin electric fans provide cooling

[Figure 3] The hydrostatic pump is same side ported like

our larger models and uses a similar pump centering
design. The S100 has two external gear pumps, one for
hydraulic flow the second for charge pressure. S0150

The hydraulic control valve shares the same casting

used on our larger models. The S100 uses a
mechanically actuated auxiliary. A solid linkage pivot is
mounted to the back side of the steering panel, and
connects the right handle to the control valve spool.

Machine Controller
[Figure 5] The new instrumentation features include an
LCD display, gauges, BICS indicator lights and several
function buttons all in the left panel. The information
button will display hour meter, engine RPM, battery
voltage, hours remaining until service and service
codes. Press and hold the lights button to display the
machine controller software version. The auxiliary
buttons are not used on S100. Also in the left panel is the
Press To Operate Loader / Traction Lock Over Ride
Button. The BICS function lights are now OFF and
Press To Operate button lighted when ready for
operation. This is opposite of the current
instrumentation lighting used on larger loaders. The
key switch is located in the right panel.

The S100 service manual is planned for release in the

Fuse Relay Panel near future. Schematics and service code information on
the S100 are included in the BATS system. The
attachment controls kit also is new and planned for
release in the near future.
Diagnostic Connector

[Figure 4] The new electronics features a single,

programmable machine controller. The controller
monitors engine oil and hydraulic charge pressures,
hydraulic oil and engine coolant temperatures and engine
speed. Like our larger models, service codes, icons and
a buzzer are used to notify the operator of warning and
shutdown conditions. The controller, fuse relay panel and
diagnostic connector are all located in the left rear of the
machine. This system uses the current remote start tool,
service PC and service analyzer.

IMPORTANT CHANGES ON VERSION 56 SOFTWARE 2007 ELECTRONIC DEALER SERVICE LIBRARY

[Figure 6] Version 56 software was recently

implemented in production and V56 Service Software
was released recently to BobcatNET. This version has
several changes worthy of mention, listed below. A list of
changes is posted with every new software release on
BobcatNET. Service managers and technicians
should review this list each time a new version is
downloaded - to avoid confusion in the shop and
equip staff to answer any related operator questions.
Some version 56 highlights:
[Figure 7] All Bobcat Dealers will receive a new
Electronic Dealer Service Library in the May 2007 dealer
mailing. Dealers will receive new discs for all the
products they are contracted for. The new library
replaces the current library sent to dealers in May of
2006. The 2006 library will expire and become not usable
in the near future. Start using the new 2007 library as
soon as you receive it. Please destroy and discard the
2006 discs to avoid any confusion.

• Improved error checking to reduce drive alarms on G-

Series all-wheel steer loaders.

• The wheel angle is increased for smaller turning

radius when in standard travel speed on G-series all-
wheel steer loaders.

• The joystick drive response is improved on K-Series

Selectable Joystick Control loaders.

• Improved rear auxiliary function on 5600 utility work

machine to prevent 28-03 alarms at cold
temperatures.

Always download the latest version service software to

your service computer. Use software improvements to
promote Bobcat products and your dealership service
department by upgrading customer machines.
