CHRISTIANITY

Beginning with the son of a Jewish carpenter, the religion was spread
around the world first by Jesus's disciples, then by emperors, kings, and
missionaries. Through crusades, conquests, and simple word of mouth,
Christianity has had a profound influence on the last 2,000 years of world
history and christians remain persecuted in some regions of the world,
especially in the Middle East, North Africa, East Asia, and South Asia.
Christianity originated with the ministry of Jesus, a Jewish teacher and healer who
proclaimed the imminent Kingdom of God and was crucified in Jerusalem in the
Roman province of Judea, And Christianity developed in Judea in the mid-first
century CE, based first on the teachings of Jesus and later on the writings and
missionary work of Paul of Tarsus. Originally, Christianity was a small, unorganized
sect that promised personal salvation after death.
