Relationship of body systems career connect

A compound fracture is a broken bone that is exposed to the outside though an opening in the skin. This is
where the bone breaks and as it breaks it pushes though the skin so you can see the bone on the outside of
the body. This could very well be the fracture that Casey had obtained. There really is not much detail to
know for sure. If the bone is sticking out of the skin, then yes this could very well be a compound
fracture. He could also have a greenstick fracture or a transverse fracture. It all depends on how he fell
when he was tackled.
When being transported to the hospital after a fracture or a break in your bones, you should always have it
immobilized. If you do not have it immobilized, then the bone can break more. If you have a broken
femur, you would need to keep your leg in a straight position. You would have to splint it with anything
you have near you that is straight. Let’s say you had two boards, you would put on board on each side of
your leg, the inside and the outside. Then you would take gauze or even clothing and wrap it around your
leg and the boards. You do not want to wrap around where the fracture or the break is, you want to wrap
the top of your leg near your hip and then the bottom of your leg near your ankle. This is for support so
that you do not more your leg and cause more damage.
The risk level of getting osteomyelitis all depends on how fast they got him to the hospital, and if they
need to do surgery. If the fracture needs surgery to be fixed with screws and rods, then the risk factor for
getting a bone infection increase. You need to look for signs and symptoms of the infection and get to the
hospital right away. With a bone infection finding it on time is key. If they do not find it one time, surgery
is required to remove the dead bone and replace it.
The hamstring muscle is found in the upper leg. It is made up of three different muscles. The hamstring
muscles -- including the biceps femoris, semimembranosus and semitendinosus -- play an important role
in activities such as walking, running and jumping. The hamstrings function to bend your knees and move
your hips backward. The function of this muscle is to help flex the leg at the knee and to also extend the
thigh from the hip. This muscle helps you to walk.
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/osteomyelitis/symptoms-causes/syc-20375913 is the
source I had used for osteomyelitis. I had also used our text book for compound fractures. Hole’s
essentials of human anatomy and physiology written by David Shier, Jackie Butler, and Ricki Lewis.
Also, for the hamstring muscle I had used the text book as well. I have also used
https://www.livestrong.com/article/151904-what-is-the-purpose-function-of-the-hamstring/ as a source
for the hamstring.
