Purpose of role
Applications are invited for 1 employed DC (“Doctoral Candidates”) PhD position to be funded by
the Marie-Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network: Sediment Transport and Morphodynamics in
Marine and Coastal Waters with Engineering Solutions (SEDIMARE) funded by the Horizon Europe
Programme of the European Commission.
One DC position is available: Morphodynamic swash zone modelling

Eligibility
Applicants will be considered on an equal basis, subject to the relevant permission to work in the UK

Applicants need to fully respect eligibility criteria (demonstrated in the Europass CV):
▪ Conditions of international mobility of researchers: Researchers are required to undertake
transnational mobility (i.e. move from one country to another) when taking up the appointment.
At the time of selection by the host organisation, researchers must not have resided or carried
out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of their host organisation for more
than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to their recruitment. Short stays, such as
holidays, are not taken into account.
▪ English language: Network fellows (DCs) must demonstrate that their ability to understand and
express themselves in both written and spoken English is sufficiently high for them to derive
the full benefit from the network training
The Application
The application must include:
▪ A motivation letter, emphasising specific interests, qualifications, and motivation to apply for

▪ A detailed cv (resume) including a short summary of bachelor’s or master’s degree research
and contact information of at least two references that may be consulted
▪ Transcripts of bachelor and master’s degree (diploma)
▪ International certificate in a foreign language, which certifies English levels of B2 - C2 (if any).

Salary
The successful candidate will receive an attractive salary in line with the MSCA regulations for DC –
from £36386 to £43626. The exact salary will be confirmed upon appointment depending on eligibility.
The DC may be eligible for additional financial payments and allowances depending upon their
eligibility under the MSCA regulations.
