Psychological characterization - Psychological/Emotional Reveals habitual responses, desires, motivations, like and dislikes – the
inner workings of the mind. Reveals how the characters think (psychological) and what they feel (emotional). This is considered the
most essential level of characterization.
Chronology is the arrangement of events by time. In literature, most authors write their story as a
sequence of events—when you use this method, arranging events in the order in which they occurred in
time, it’s called putting them in “chronological order.” Sticking with a chronological timeline is the easiest
way for audiences to follow what happens and is generally the best way to show cause and effect. But,
some authors may be more risky with a story’s chronology, sharing events out of order—for example, they
may start the story at the end and work backwards, jump back and forth in time, and so on!
Chronological order is the order in which the events occurred, from first to last. This is the easiest pattern to write and to follow.
Example: It seemed like an ordinary day when she got up that morning, but Lynda was about to embark on the worst. day of her life.
Ang “metaphor” sa Tagalog ay tinatawag na “metapora” o “pagwawangis”. Ito ay ang tuwirang paghahambing. Ngunit, iba ito sa
pagtutulad o “simili”.
Symbolism refers to the use of representational imagery: the writer employs an image with a deeper, non-literal meaning, for the
purpose of conveying complex ideas. In literature, symbolism is the use of a concrete image to represent an abstract idea. For
example, the heart is often employed as a symbol of love.

What is structure used for in literature?
Structure in literature is used to knit all the various elements of a story (worldbuilding, characters, plot) together. It
can also be used to emphasize certain elements of a story and to set expectations from its audience through
familiar set-ups (such as with the hero's journey).
What is an example of structure in literature?
An example of structure in western literature is the three-act structure. It arranges various elements of plot
(exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and denouement) and setting into three distinct acts of a beginning,
middle, and end.
What is structure in literature?

Hugot Lines are considered poems since elements of poetry are evident in them. Poetry is an imaginative awareness of experience
expressed through meaning, sound, and rhythmic language choices so as to evoke an emotional response.
