Key Vocabulary:
Seeds - come from either flowers or fruits to make more flowers or fruits
Roots - they help hold down the plant, to keep it in place. It also absorbs water and
nutrients/food from the soil.
Stem - provides support for the plant. It also transports water, nutrients, and sugars to different
parts of the plant.
Leaf - make food for the plant.
flower - help the plant make more plants by producing seeds. They also attract bees and
butterflies.
fruit - contain the seeds and help the plant make more plants.

Content/Facts:

help them remember
● another way to remember is the interactive song
● Then go over the plant part functions

■ The students will read the plant part book and color what is suppose to

● come together to go over the parts of plants again and their functions

I think this lesson went well, the students were able to tell me the plant parts based on
pictures, and then after listening to a video, they were able to retell me what the plant part
functions are.
I think the lesson went smoothly on my part, I got everything I wanted to teach them in.
They really loved the interactive song that can help with remembering the parts and functions.
