Thank you for your interest in NEBB’s TAB CP individual certification program. The following information outlines the
details of the certification process.

TAB CP Application for Candidacy

1. Please complete the Application for Candidacy and all applicable documents and submit to
certification@nebb.org.
2. There is a non-refundable Application for Candidacy fee which must be paid at the time of submitting your
completed Application.
3. When emailing the completed Application, please include the following documents to be considered. Please
send in separate PDF files to be validated:
a. Copy of educational degree (if applicable)
b. Copy of professional resume
c. Professional Job Duties/Responsibility Overview Document. This document should provide a brief
overview of the knowledge, skills, abilities, duties and tasks you had responsibility for on each of the
projects you listed on your application.
4. Once the Application for Candidacy is received, it goes into Staff Review.
a. Staff review of the application and related documents can take up to two weeks from receipt.
b. Once you are an approved Certification Candidate, Sheila will send you information on the various
exams.

TAB CP Exams, five total (to be taken in no specific order):

1. Written Exam
2. Two online courses (Pre-Field Report and Error Finding). Information on these exams will be sent to you once
you are an approved Candidate.
3. Practical Air Hands-on Exam (given at NEBB Chapters)
4. Practical Water Hands-On Exam (given at NEBB Chapters)

TAB CP Application and Exam fees

1. NEBB non-refundable TAB CP Application for Candidacy fee: $100
2. NEBB TAB CP Written Exam fee: $500
3. Error Finding HVAC courses fee: $325
4. Report Prep Course fee: $325
5. Practical Exam fees are set by the chapters. Please contact the chapter directly for
details.

Officially Achieving Certification

1. Once you have passed all the required TAB CP exams, please contact certification@nebb.org for an Application
for Certification Form to complete and return with payment to NEBB.
2. Upon receipt of the completed Application for Certification and payment, you will receive your official TAB CP
certification number and certificate.
a. Candidates should complete this final stage of the process as soon as possible upon passing the exam.
You are not officially certified until the Application for Certification is completed, sent in, and fees
paid.

TAB CP Certification fees

1. TAB CP Certification: $50
2. TAB CT Certificate: $30

Study Materials
1. TAB Certified Professional Home Study Course: The TAB CP Home Study Course can be ordered online or by
calling Finance Manager, Emily Demmons at 301.591.0488.
2. If you are interested in enhancing your self-study process, NEBB offers 20 online learning programs at a cost of
$50 each.
3. NEBB also offers training courses that you might find useful in your self-study process as you prepare for the
