Instructions

Part 1 : Setup the network according to the topology.

Step 1 : Cable the network according to topology given above.

a. Import the Windows Server 2019 and Windows 10 image to VMWare.


b. Set network adapter on Windows Server 2019 to NAT for WAN interface and Vmnet 2 and
Vmnet 3 for LAN interface for DCRoute and set network adapter on Windows Server 2019 to
NAT for WAN interface and Vmnet 3 and Vmnet 4 for LAN interface for Route1.
c. Set network adapter on PC1 (Windows 10) to Vmnet 2.
d. Set network adapter on PC2 (Windows 10) to Vmnet 4.

Part 2 : Configure basic network settings for all devices.

Step 1 : Configure IP address on all devices according to table and topology diagram.

Step 2 : Configure hostname according to the table and topology diagram.

Part 3 : Install Routing Services.

Step 1 : Install Remote Access on DCRoute and Route1. Select Remote Access from Server Roles.
Step 2 : Select Routing from Role Services.

Step 3: Click Add Features and continue :-


Step 4: Click Next to proceed with installation.

Step 5: Click Install to proceed with services installation.

*Step 6: Repeat step 1 to 5 for server 2(Router2).

Part 4 : Configure Routing

Step 1 : Open the Getting Started Wizard for DirectAccess and VPN (RAS).
Step 2 : Choose Deploy VPN only.
Step 3 : Configure the VPN by right-click on DCRouter1(local) and select configure option.

Step 4: Click Next to proced with wizard.

Step 5 : Select Custom configuration and click Next.


Step 6 : Select LAN routing and click Next.

Step 7 : Click Finish.

Step 8 : Click Start service to enable VPN services.


Step 9 : Expand Ipv4 tab in Routing and Remote menu. Right click on Static Routes. Choose New
Static Route.

Step 10 : Choose Static Route Interface and fill the information according to the diagram. Click OK to
enable the static route.

Step 11 : Repeat step 1 until 10 to configure static route on Router2. Fill in the information required
according to picture below.
Part 5 : NAT

Step 1 : Right click on NAT menu under IPv4.

Step 2 : Add New Interface. Select LAN Interface.

Step 3 : Choose interface type as Private interface connected to private network.


Step 4 : Right click on NAT menu under IPv4.

Step 5 : Add New Interface. Select WAN Interface.

Step 6 : Choose interface type as Public interface connected to the Internet

*Step 7 : Repeat Step 1 until 6 to configure NAT in Router2.


Part 6 : Verification

Step 1 : Go to PC1. Open up Command Prompt and issue command route print to verify routing
table.

Step 2 : Verify connectivity between PC1 and PC2.


Step 3 : Use tracert command to determine the travel path of the network from PC1 to PC2.

Step 4 : Verify internet connectivity by issuing ping command and ping google public DNS.

*Step 5 : Repeat Step 1 until 4 to verify from


PC2.
