"Women do not have a good chance as men in succeeding in life"

Mr. Chairman, Panel of Judges, Invited Guess, Fellow Debaters, Ladies and Gentlemen, the motion
before the house is "Women do not have a good chance as men in succeeding in life", I rise up strongely
against the motion.
First and foremost, My opponent may think that, because women are physically weak, bearing children,
lookfor the house among others, they think they cannot succeed as their male counterparts. My
opponent may also further think that because most of the big time business or companies are ownid by
men indicates that the female counterparts cannot succeed as their male one's.
However, Mr. Chairman, we are in the modern world where everybody has an equal chance in doing
whatever he wants to do and therefore, the statements mentioned by my oppponents are misleading
and therefore cannot be scaled or measured when subjected into a critical analysis.
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen, we are in an era where we have the three organs of government
such as the judiciary, Legislature and the executive to perform the various functions of fovernment in
terms of governance, women therefore contributes significantly in this field of governance. For instance,
the head of the Judiciary system in Ghana is a woman "Her Excellency Chief Justice Goergina Wood". In
the legislature however, the headis a woman that is "Her Excellency Barmford Addo Joys". all these
people contribute to the development of this noble country and hence succeeded even more than their
male counterparts.
More so, in academics or educational ladder, women also performs drastically as their male
counterpart's in spite of them bearing children for their husbands. For instance the current Vice
Chancellor of Cape Coast University is a woman. Women also lecture in the universities. For example,
Professor Ramatu in the Agric Business Department in the University of Ghana is a competent lecturer. In
the primary schools amd the Junior High School women are succeeded in becoming headmistress and
teachers as their male counterpart
Furthermore, women also achieve greatly as their male counterparts in the field of business. Statistics
therefore indicated that, 75% of the small scale businessess are owned by womenin developing nations
and since Ghana is a developing country and these countries are been characterised in terms of small
scale vusinesses or small scale traders. Women holds the economy of this country and therefore
succeeded better than their male counterparts.
Also, Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen, women are also good administrators in terms of
management both in the house and the office level, In the house, some people claim that men manage
house hold to become productive and useful citisens, but women does that a lot. For instance, the
football stars of this country currentlyh known as Michael Essien and Sule Mutarirespectively are veen
looke after byh their devoice mothers and today their mothers have succeeded in life better than most
men.
In the administration, some women held a lot of public offices with vigour and dcan do better than their
male counterparts. Some women work as District Chief Executives, Ministers of state e.t.c. as compare to
their males counterparts and these people have succeeded in life.
Mr. Chairman, Panel of Judges< Invited Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen with these irrefutable points that I
have advance there is no alternative than to vote against the motion that "Women do not have a a good
chance as men in succeeding in life".
Thank you.
