STEPS FOR UNIT 10

1. The groups will be conformed. The teacher can help students in this organization.
2. Students will read, reflect about and discuss Tuckman's theory of group work. They will keep in
mind these stages as guides for the steps they will follow in the rest of the task.
3. Group members will share ideas and select the proposal they will develop and present to
improve their own and their classmate’s lifestyles.
4. Group members will create a shared folder or choose any other tool that facilitates
collaborative work (jamboard, collaboration boards, etc.). They will pitch in their supporting
points, expanding ideas with related points and examples as shown in lesson 10.5. They should
provide feedback to each other in class or directly on the document.
5. By the end of unit 10, at least the first 3 stages of Tuckman's theory must have been completed.
In terms of tasks, they must have gotten together, gotten to know each other, assigned roles,
established norms, face and cope with initial conflicts when developing the first activities as
described above. Stage 4, as explained in the essay, will be happening throughout the project.

STEPS FOR UNIT 11

1. Unit 11 is all about lifestyles. Groups will elaborate on and revise their proposals including ideas
for positive changes in lifestyles, vocabulary and structures presented in unit 11.
2. Groups are to prepare a PPT or any other type of visual aid to use by the time they are required
to present to the other groups. It should be eye-catchy, interesting and informative enough.
3. The group will start a process of collaborative writing for the final report. Lesson 11.3 (Living
together) offers useful expressions and guides to facilitate reflecting upon group work. They
should include positive things such as what they have found rewarding, enriching and easy. Also,
they should address the challenges, whether or not they feel comfortable with their roles and
contributions and what they can do or are doing to improve the group dynamics and outcomes.
4. The group will do a collaborative proof-reading and editing of the report. Not only should they
correct mistakes, but make sure the language used is as advanced as expected for the level. For
instance, in lesson 11.2, they will learn how to use synonyms to avoid repetition. This is a great
opportunity to learn and use more advanced vocabulary.

STEPS FOR UNIT 12

1. Groups will present their proposals in a fair with the visual aids prepared previously.
2. To complete the stages from Tuckman's theory, students should get together for a closure
meeting: conclusions and final reflections to complete the report:
3. Groups will complete their reports describing what happened in each one of the stages.
4.Critical thinking and a growth mindset are key in this reflection.
5. More than just a descriptive one, it should include reflection about emotions and how they
were managed, values, skills developed, lessons learned and aspects that students can continue to
improve.
