1. Discuss the importance of studying ethics and values

Imagine a community or society where the people don’t have ethics and
values, that community or society will be in chaos. Without proper values and
code of conduct people will live a miserable life. One reason to study ethics is
that ethics is inescapable. The study of ethics helps a person to look at his
own life critically and to evaluate his actions/choices/decisions. It assists a
person in knowing what he/she really is and what is best for him/her and what
he/she has to do in order to attain it.
Another compelling reasons why it is important to study ethics because it
concerns the rightness or wrongness of action, the virtue or vice of character,
and general matters of good and evil and how we might respond to good and
evil. In other words Ethics and Values are very crucial and need to be taught
especially to the students in this generation.
Ethical standard and good values orientation is needed for us to align our
behaviors with the norms and proper conduct within the social framework in
the society. Values reflect our sense of right and wrong. They help us grow
and develop. They help us create the future we want. The decisions we make
every day are a reflection of our values. Without proper values and ethics I
believe life is a failure. Because if you have money and you attained all the
world could offer but without values, ethics and good character these things is
meaningless.
We as educator we have very important role in our community and that is
to teach the students not just to have good grades but inculcating in their
minds the importance of ethics and values in their lives.
