WHAT IS A
FLASH FLOOD ?
A flash flood or floodwater is a large flood that
comes suddenly by overflowing, inundating, and
rushing to wash away large objects. These floods
occur suddenly in low-lying areas due to
persistent rainfall.
WHAT CAUSES A
FLASH FLOOD ?
Flash floods are caused when continuous
high-intensity rainfall occurs, the soil on
the slopes landslides carrying liquid, and
when it enters the river it flows as a flash
flood, which will hit and sweep away
anything in its path.
