Thesis Title Oil Price and Stock Market Fluctuations: Evidence from Emerging Markets

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the volatility of international oil prices
Thesis Abstract and stock market of emerging markets. Emerging markets of Asia has been investigated
and evidence is taken from China and Pakistan. The monthly data is used for Brent oil
prices, stock market,CPI and exchange rate of respective countries. Multivariate
Cointegration Analysis is being applied along with Vector Error Correction Model. the
VECM model is applied which shows that oil prices negatively impact the stock markets
in emerging markets as these countries are oil importing countries. Lastly Impulse
Response and Variance Decomposition which forecast the impact of oil effect on stock
markets. After that asymmetric effects have been observed in the stock markets..

Achievements As a faculty member, I successfully developed and implemented a new course in the
business department, which was adopted by 60% of enrolled students and resulted in a
33% increase in their employability. Additionally, I led a project to hire academic and
administrative staff, resulting in the recruitment of high-quality candidates and filling previous
gaps by 43%.

I also organized and conducted a successful self-defense program for students and staff,
resulting in a 70% increase in female participants' confidence to commute independently. As
Sports Incharge, I organized a martial arts gala that further increased students' self-defense
skills and confidence.

As DSA Coordinator, I effectively managed student affairs initiatives, resulting in an increase


in student engagement and satisfaction. I also served as Exam Coordinator and Incharge
Admission committee, where I developed and implemented procedures to ensure the
security and integrity of exam materials and coordinated an efficient and streamlined
admission process for prospective students.

Finally, I supervised and mentored graduate students in their research projects, resulting in
successful completion and publication of their research findings.
