Task
Professionalism requires attention to detail. Assignment rubrics and checklists are designed to
help students achieve a real-world level of professional performance. Examine the following
sections of a report, and identify weaknesses and strengths as indicated.

Introduction
Qatar is a dry desert environment which may not be the most suitable geography for
growing plants. Despite the difficulty in growing plants, Qatar excels in the oil industry, natural
gas resources and agricultural farms. Agricultural farms experience difficulties managing the
daily production of farm waste; therefore, one of the best solutions to lessen the increasing
For agricultural farms in Qatar to invest in composting there needs to be a researched alternative so this
recommendation report will evaluate three composting systems; tumbler, mechanical, and effective
microorganisms (EMO), based on criteria of environmental impact, user safety and capital cost find
the most suitable solution that will reduce negative impact from agricultural waste in Qatar.

managing the daily production of farm waste. One of the best solutions to deal with the
increasing amount of farm waste is composting, a process of turning organic waste matter into
natural fertilizers. Before Qatar invests in composting, though, it needs to research the various
methods available. This recommendation report will evaluate three composting systems:
environmental impact, user safety, and capital cost – EMO will be recommended as the
Background
According to Rominger (2020), composting not only brings benefits to the environment,
it also brings benefits for the economy and communities. The most important reasons for
composting, then, are the reduction of landfill use, disposal costs and the carbon emissions that
harm the environment and health of people. Two important composting techniques that this
report will examine are the aerobic and anaerobic processes. The aerobic process requires
Discussion
This section of the report will compare the three composting methods – tumbler,
mechanical, and effective microorganisms (EMO) – against the three criteria – environmental
composting process that needs constant turning. Vessels for this purpose come in different

“Carry on Composting,” n.d.
The tumbler composting method insulates the wastes inside a plastic or metal vessel
and requires monitoring, watering, turning, emptying, and spreading. This composting method
takes eight weeks to compost (Carry on Composting, n.d.). The tumbler method can be used
when space is limited; in addition, workers do not have to be in direct contact with the organic
wastes when being turned, which makes the composting method safe for the workers (Carry on
Composting, n.d.). According to Mantis (2020), the tumbler composting solution can compost
635 liters of compost within two weeks when the composter is in optimum condition.

Recommendation
According to the criteria of environmental impact, safety, and capital cost, the
recommended solution for composting Qatar’s agricultural farm wastes is the effective micro-
EMO composting is a system that can easily be implemented; once begun, the process
requires no regular maintenance, which means there is less strenuous work for the workers. In
addition, the technique does not require special equipment and materials to convert organic
materials into compost. Fermentation takes place in a sealed container or vessel. This makes
maintenance easier and does not allow greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide to be released in
the atmosphere when the process starts. However, the amount of gas released once the
compost is mixed with soil is still unclear. In this connection, further study should be conducted
regarding environmental impact. It also should be noted that the process of fermentation
makes the compost acidic and therefore unusable directly on crop plants. Nevertheless, this
composting technique is relatively environmentally safe because the acidity can be neutralized
by leaving the compost sit for seven to ten days before mixing with soil. Lastly, this report does
not consider the chemical processes of each solution. Further research can be conducted to
determine whether carbon-to-nitrogen ratios and percentages of oxygen intake are of
environmental concern.
Despite these caveats, the solutions and criteria explained here strongly suggest that
EMO is the most suitable solution for implementation in Qatar’s agricultural initiatives.
7) Grammar, Usage, Mechanics
This part of the report explains the environmental impact, safety, and capital cost
criteria used to evaluate the three solutions: tumbler Mechanical and EMO composting.
Environmental Impact
This criterion refers to the effect of the composting techniques to the environment;
however the composting can result in water and air pollution when neglected ore is handled
the wrong way. This criterion will be measured using the following terms. Safe refers to the
safest compositing technique; relatively safe refers to a technique with a slight, temporary
negative impact; and hazardous is the negative impact of the composting technique that can
damage the environment permanently. knowledge regarding the possible negative effects of
