4) Prepare your presentation. Follow these instructions:

Each member should be ready to speak for about 3 minutes.

Begin with a brief introduction of your topic.

Show your presentation to the class . ALL the members must speak.

Be calm, confident, clear and concise.

Practice your part several times.

Visual presentation of the content will help.

Finally, submit your work in this section in the CVG for further assessment.
RECOMMENDATIONS:

Be excited and speak with confidence. If you are excited and speak confidently, your

audience will feel that and automatically become more interested.

Make eye contact with the audience. Your purpose is to communicate with your audience,

and people listen more if they feel you are talking directly to them. As you speak, let your

eyes settle on one person for several seconds before moving on to somebody else. You do

not have to make eye contact with everybody, but make sure you connect with all areas of

the audience equally.

Avoid filler words. Um, like, you know, and many others. To an audience, these are

indications that you do not know what to say; you sound uncomfortable, so they start to

feel uncomfortable as well. Speak slowly enough that you can collect your thoughts

before moving ahead.

Relax and breathe. It is fine to be nervous. Speaking in front of an audience is number 1

fear, even before death! The most effective way to keep your nerves aside is to have a lot

of practice beforehand and to breathe deeply throughout your presentation.

Try to speak at a natural speed -nerves will make you speed up. Speak clearly, but don’t

shout. And don’t rush! Your audience will be much more comfortable if you appear to be

calm.
Don’t read! One of the worst presentation offences is reading from sheets of notes! This

removes engagement with the audience and is very boring to watch! You can take short

notes in with you (e.g., notes with bullet points to follow) containing the main points to

be covered, but not to be read.

Body language. Avoid nervous habits such as fiddling with things, buttons, hair, etc.

Thanks and questions. At the end of your presentation thank the audience for listening

and ask if they have any questions.

MOST IMPORTANT TIP! Practice makes perfect! Keep practising until you no longer

need notes.
