TOEFL WRITING SECTION

The reading and the lecture explain the correlation and influences of productivity and rewards. In one
sense, some people believe that reward workers create a good environment and productivity. However,
others are against this belief because they consider rewards causes several disadvantages in order to
decrease productivity.

Behavior in workers is not the same because their cognitive process change. They think if they receive
rewards, they will be controlled more or they could receive punishments. While the other side asserts
that rewards are a huge motivation because they don’t only earn money, they receive extra benefits.

On the other hand, the lecture reflects the disadvantage in behaviors where workers don’t have a good
relationship with authorities because they feel manipulated and they need to work more. Meanwhile, the
lecture says that rewards increase their intrinsic motivation. That’s why they have a good mood and like
to cooperate and work.

To sum up, there are different points of view to discuss the theory about of productivity and rewards.
