In this modern day and age, miscommunication between parents and children is
becoming a prevailing issue. One might even say that it is the biggest problem faced by
families. They might justify this by saying that it is brought on by generational, mentality,
and education gaps. Regardless, a misunderstanding between parents and children is not the
biggest issue, and by that it is, one is overlooking the actual and more serious problems.
Parents and children can build meaningful relationships, and in addition, parents and children
not understanding each other is a phase. It is upon these latter pillars that the imminent
argument will be constructed.

As stated in the established introduction, misunderstandings between parents and

children are not the biggest problem faced by families today. There are many other very
important and serious issues that are the root of dysfunctional relationships between parents
and children. These issues can heavily impact families, and lead to more serious in the future
for families, and some of these issues are poverty, abuse within the household, divorces, etc.

Moreover, parents and children can build meaningful relationships. In contemporary

times, parents are becoming more aware of issues faced by their children. Parents are
adjusting to the attitudes and mindset of their children, and are learning how to communicate
with their children. Additionally, teenagers are learning how to deal with challenges they
face, and they are opening to their parents for help. Misunderstandings between them can
easily be fixed like this, hence why it is not that big of an issue.

Ultimately, parents and children having misunderstandings is a phase that will

eventually be grown out of. Teenagers or children might not want to talk to their parents just
because they want to be rebellious, or parents might not want to listen to a teenager’s
reasoning because they believe that they are superior and that they should be obeyed
regardless of if they are wrong. This can cause conflicts yes, but as both parties get older they
will learn to deal with whatever issues they have together, and they will grow out of that
phase.

Conclusively, parents and children not understanding each other is not a big deal, and
it is not the biggest issue faced by families today. There are other problems that are more
important, and children can build meaningful relationships with their parents. Additionally,
misunderstandings or conflicts between parents and children is a phase that will eventually be
grown out of.
