Make a list of your “Top 5 Tips/ Secrets for Studying” based on your personal
experiences/ preferences. Write your answer on the space provided below.

1. I don’t rely on my notes too much because it can cause you confusion especially
if the lesson is synchronous wherein you should focus more on listening than
writing.
2. I scan my notes and lectures at least 2 hours a day so that I wouldn’t be
overloaded.
3. Eating while studying really help me especially when I’m too stressed in a
subject.
4. Don’t force yourself to study if you are sleepy or not in the mood because you
cannot focus in the first place so why bother waste your time instead of relaxing.
5. I usually study a day before any recitation or quiz then scan an hour so that
overloading of notes would not be a problem for me.

Scenario: You are about to study for your final examinations, all your subjects provided
at least three new reading materials and topics one week before the examination
period. Create a diagram or schedule using at least five (5) of the metacognitive
strategies, skills and studying techniques mentioned in this lesson on how you would
prepare for the next seven (7) days before your final examinations.

 Be Mentally Stable

Explain the question below, before you begin writing read the passage carefully and
compose your thoughts. Your essay should be as well organized and as carefully
written as you can make it.

Self-Efficacy Theory is commonly defined as the belief in one’s capabilities to

achieve a goal or an outcome. It is the ability to influence events that affect one’s life
and control the way these events are experienced. And It matter because it is the one
that makes you capable to achieve or do anything amidst of the unfavorable
circumstances.
The interpreted consequence of one's previous success, or mastery experience,
is the most powerful source. When we talk about mastery encounters, we're talking
about the feelings one gets when they take on a new challenge and succeed at it.
Practicing is one of the most effective ways to learn a new skill or develop one's
success in a specific task.

Observing other people successfully complete a mission is known as vicarious

experience. When you have strong role models in your life, you're more likely to absorb
at least a couple of their positive self-beliefs. Older siblings, older peers, camp
counselors, parents, aunts and uncles, grandparents, teachers, coaches, and
employers are all examples of social role models.

Receiving positive verbal input when performing a difficult task convinces an

individual that they have the necessary skills and abilities to succeed. Verbal persuasion
may be used at any age, but the sooner it is used, the more likely it is to promote the
development of self-efficacy.

A person's mental, physical, and psychological well-being may have an impact

on how they feel about their own abilities in a given situation. Individuals can increase
their sense of self-efficacy by learning how to control anxiety and improve mood when
confronted with difficult circumstances.

Having a Fixed Mindset makes me do something that I should do as a normal

person, student, brother, friend, son etc. and having a Growth Mindset makes me do
something that I don’t usually do as a normal person. Things can change as time goes
by wherein you can have a fixed and growth mindset at the same time but most of the
time having one mindset is the most reliable and useful.

ACTIVITY XIV
Activity on well-being :

1. After viewing your result. Write down your reflections about it. Which area you
need to pay more attention in improving and how do you plan to do it.

After I saw the result I didn’t even get surprise because it is really true and as of
now I also know what to fix but I don’t really know how and where to start. Having
difficulty on thinking positively and having more stress is not healthy but I don’t
know how to manage it. For now I’m just going with the flow but still I’m planning
to fix it because it is myself after all.
2. List down your stressors and ways on how to cope with them:

STRESSORS COPING
ACADEMIC PROBLEM I avoid stressing myself as much as
possible because it won’t really help
me if I continue to support it messing
with my whole life.
FAMILY PROBLEM I cope with it by being open to my
family when I struggling at many things
at the same time.
MENTALLY UNSTABLE I’m trying to lift myself up in this mental
health issues because it’s not really
healthy and helpful especially in times
like this.

Taking charge of yourself:

From the previous lessons, write down concrete ways on how you (will) take charge on
the different areas of self.

1. Physical Self
 Maintaining good lifestyle and avoiding unhealthy behaviors

2. Sexual Self
 Being mindful of the potential repercussions of sexual activity and continuing to
respect people's identity and gender expression.

3. Material/Economic Self
 Rather than wasting it, concentrate on earning it. Make preparations and take
steps to take advantage of opportunities that will help us achieve financial
stability. Prioritize your needs above your desires.

4. Spiritual Self
 Prayers and regular Bible reading will help you re-establish a strong relationship
with God.

5. Political Self
 Balance the weighing of options and be more critical when making choices that
affect others. Not only in terms, but also in actions, practice being a good Filipino
person.

6. Digital Self
 Think about whether or not you want your details to be available online.

Create your Commitment to Take Charge of your SELF:

“IMPROVEMENT BEGINS WITH I.”
