1. First
This document provides the steps to perform clean installing Windows 10 professional 64 bit on the following models.
Before clean installing, please confirm information such as restrictions after installing Windows 10 on the web page of
"Windows 10 support Evaluation Information".

In some cases, you should not install Windows 10. Read all the documentation before you start installing new OS.

In addition, please begin installing after printing this document out beforehand.

If you do not have Recovery discs, please create them before installing Windows 10. It will not be possible to create
them after clean installing. For instructions of creating Recovery discs, read the [Operating Instructions].

2. Installing Windows 10
2-1. Steps for installing Windows 10
Please perform installing with the following steps by all means.

Detail procedure for each step is described in 2-2.

The procedure described in this guide introduces the install steps for preinstalled application and drivers.

2-2. Detail procedure for installing

All of the steps (Downloading update programs, extracting files, and installing the drivers and applications)
should be done by the same administrator account.

Step1: Preparations that are necessary for installing

Prepare following items before installing.
• AC Adaptor (Plug your PC to outlet during installation.)
• Battery Pack (Insert to your PC during installation.)
• Setup DVD-ROM for Windows 10 Pro
• [Models without Internal DVD drive ]External DVD drive
• Information of Windows 10 about the applications that you installed to your PC and the peripherals you use for
your PC.
• Turn on the wireless switch [WIRELESS].
Please use LAN or WIRELESS LAN. Don’t use WiMAX or WIRELESS WAN
• [CF-19 Dedicated GPS Option Installed Model]
Please set [GPS] to “Disabled” in [Advanced]-[Serial Port Settings] in Setup Utility.

Step2: Backup Important Data

You should back up files that you created in the hard drive to a safe location (to external media – external hard drive,
memory card, re-writable DVD and so on), before upgrading to Windows 10.

Step3: Install Windows 10
Note: Make sure to follow the restrictions below until all of the procedure finishes.
• The AC adaptor should be connected and the fully charged battery pack should be inserted.
• Any peripheral equipment should not be connected unless instruction tells to do so.
• Make sure that [Boot] - [UEFI Boot] in Setup Utility is set to “Enabled”. Please note that a whole hard
drive data including the Recovery partition will be lost.

(1) [Models without Internal DVD drive] Connect the external DVD drive.
(2) Insert the Windows 10 Setup DVD.
(3) Restart the computer. When the [Panasonic] logo appears on the screen, press [F2] key to enter Setup Utility.
In the [Boot Override] section, select the DVD drive that Windows 10 Setup DVD is inserted. The computer will
restart.
(4) When “Press any key to boot from CD or DVD” appears, press any key to boot from Windows 10 Setup
DVD.
(5) Install in accordance with the instruction on Web page of Microsoft Windows 10.

Step4: Downloading the programs for updating and extracting to the hard drive
1) Download the update programs for your PC from the Support Web, and save them to the hard drive or
external media (e.g. external hard drive, memory card, rewritable DVD and so on).

The WWAN files are different depending on the model.

So please download the files by a retrieval keyword "WWAN" of the "Keyword & Category Search".

2) Extract all of the downloaded files according to the following procedures.

(1) Double-click the downloaded file.
(2) At [User Account Control] screen, click [Yes].
(3) When the license agreement appears, read it carefully, and then click [Yes(Y)].
(4) The [Destination Location] screen appears. Usually you don’t need to change the destination location.
The default destination is [C:\util10] and [C:\util2].
Click [OK].
(5) The folder appears when extracting finishes. Close the folder. (wait for a while depending on download
size.)
※If the message [Folder already exists. Do you want to replace it?] appears, Click [Yes].

Step5: Install drivers for Windows 10

(1) Install Intel(R) Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver

1) Open [File Explorer], and browse [C:\util10\drivers\dptf_4278] folder.
2) Right-click setup(.exe), and click [Run as administrator].
3) Follow the message displayed and update.
4) After reboot, Open [File Explorer], and browse [C:\util10\drivers\dptf_4278] folder.
5) Double-click LPOSetting(.js). At [User Account Control] screen, click [Yes].

(2) Install Intel(R) Management Engine Component
1) Open [File Explorer], and then browse [C:\util2\drivers\me] folder.
2) Right-click Pinstall(.bat), and click [Run as administrator].
3) Command prompt window will be displayed, wait until it is closed.

(3) Intel(R) Chipset Device Software

1) Open [File Explorer], and browse [C:\util2\drivers\intelinf] folder.
2) Right-click Pinstall(.bat), then click [Run as administrator].
3) Follow the message displayed and update.

(4) Install Graphics Driver

[CF-19]
1) Open [File Explorer], and then browse [C:\util2\drivers\genericvideo4303] folder.
2) Right-click setup(.exe), then click [Run as administrator].
3) Follow the message displayed and install.
[UT-MB5, UT-MA6]
1) Open [File Explorer], and then browse [C:\util10\drivers\video_nv] folder.
2) Right-click Pinstall(.bat), then click [Run as administrator].
3) Follow the message displayed and install.

(5) Install HID Drivers for Panasonic PC

1) Open [File Explorer], and then browse [C:\util10\drivers\phid] folder.
2) Right-click Pinstall(.bat), and click [Run as administrator].
3) Command prompt window will be displayed, wait until it is closed.

(6) Install System Interface Device Drivers

1) Open [File Explorer], and then browse [C:\util10\drivers\sid] folder.
2) Right-click Pinstall(.bat), and click [Run as administrator].
3) Command prompt window will be displayed, wait until it is closed.

(7) Install SD Card Controller

[UT-MB5, UT-MA6 With SD card slot]
1) Open [File Explorer], and browse [C:\util2\drivers\sd_re] folder.
2) Right-click Pinstall(.bat), and click [Run as administrator].
3) Command prompt window will be displayed, wait until it is closed.
[CF-19 With SD card slot]
1) Open [File Explorer], and browse [C:\util2\drivers\sd_ri] folder.
2) Right-click Pinstall(.bat), and click [Run as administrator].
3) Command prompt window will be displayed, wait until it is closed.

(8) Install Fingerprint Driver

[CF-19 Finger Print Reader Installed Model]
1) Open [File Explorer], and then browse [C:\util10/\drivers\fgrprint] folder.
2) Right-click Pinstall(.bat), then click [Run as administrator].
3) Command prompt window will be displayed, wait until it is closed.

(9) Install GPS Registry Patch
[CF-19 Dedicated GPS Option Installed Model]
1) Open [File Explorer], and then browse [C:\util10\drivers\gps] folder.
2) Right-click Pinstall(.bat), then click [Run as administrator].
3) Command prompt window will be displayed, wait until it is closed.

(10) Install Wireless LAN Software

1) In case 64bit OS, Open [File Explorer], and browse [C:\util10\drivers\wlan\Win7Plus\Win64\Install] folder.
2) Right-click silent_MWT_DisWoWLAN(.bat), and click [Run as Administrator]
3) Command prompt window will be displayed, wait until it is closed.

(11) Install USB LAN Driver

[CF-19Z]
1) Open [File Explorer], and then browse [C:\util2\drivers\ex-lan\smsc] folder.
2) Right-click Pinstall(.bat), and click [Run as Administrator].
3) Command prompt window will be displayed, wait until it is closed.
4) Open [File Explorer], and then browse [C:\util2\drivers\ex-lan\moschip] folder.
5) Right-click Pinstall(.bat), and click [Run as Administrator].
6) Command prompt window will be displayed, wait until it is closed

(12) Restore GPS setting in Setup Utility

[CF-19Z Dedicated GPS Option Installed Model]
If you disabled GPS in Setup Utility at Step 1, please set [GPS] back to “Auto” in [Advanced]-[Serial Port
Settings] in Setup Utility.

(13) Calibrate the screen for pen and touch

[Models with Touch Screen]
1) Open [Control Panel].
2) Select [Hardware and Sound] – [Tablet PC Settings] – [Calibrate].
3) When User Account Control screen appears, click [Yes].
4) Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the touch screen.

(14) Install Wireless WAN Software Driver

[Models with Wireless WAN F5521gw]
1) Open [File Explorer], and browse [C:\util10\drivers\wwan_07] folder.
2) Right-click setup(.exe), and click [Run as Administrator]
3) Follow the message displayed and install.

(15) Install Sound Driver

1) Open [File Explorer], and then browse [C:\util2\drivers\sound] folder.
2) Right-click Pinstall(.bat), then click [Run as administrator].
3) Follow the message displayed and install, then restart computer.

Step6: Windows Update
(1) Click Start button, then select [Settings] - [Update & Security] - [Windows Update]
(2) Click [Check for updates].

Step7: Install applications for Windows 10

For the following applications, install Windows 10 versions.
(Install applications under [C:\util10] folder)
Applications that are not mandatory, please install the ones you use.
If the file path does not exist, that application is not available for your model.

Procedure: Install applications
1) Open [File Explorer], and the browse each file path.
2) Right-click setup(.exe) and click [Run as Administrator].
If there are two or more files which names are “Setup”, right-click the file of witch type is Application.
3) Follow the message displayed and install.

Step8: Install other applications

You can use other applications as follows.
(Install applications under [C:\util2] folder)
Applications that are not mandatory, please install the ones you use.
If the file path does not exist, that application is not available for your model.
