Christie was in my AP Psychology class at Westminster High School. That year was an interesting year as students were mostly online and the field of education was ‘experience its’ first as everyone was trying to navigate through uncharted territory during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Christie stood out to me in a class filled with black squares on my computer screen. Her determination to do her best was a. breath of fresh air during a time when most students would log on to Zoom and leave their computerr. Christie had this meticulous drive to succeed academically, while lending a helping hand to her peers who are struggling. Not too often do | see these two qualities in one person, much less in a student. She currently juggles her heavy ‘academic workload while being a peer tutor and a part time employee. Christie has leadership skills that is effortless and can get any job done. Although, | never got a chance to meet Christie in person, the name always ring a bell in my head and takes me back to our Zoom classes when | first witnessed her growth from a silent, but strong sophomore to the accomplished senior she is today.
