Description of the Accident:

As the amusement park closed following the previous day's activity at 12:22am, the fire began. It was
thought to have originated in the room stocked with stuffed animals and a variety of prizes. Other areas of
the building were immediately inundated with flames, and enormous smoke plumes could be seen rising
into the sky. A total of 19 fire vehicles were sent to the scene after the situation was upgraded to Task
Force Bravo after two hours. Although there were no verified injuries, the fire was found to have damaged
80% of the building, costing an estimated 1 billion (US$19.3 million). Some of Star City's most popular
indoor tourist attractions, including the Snow World, were destroyed by the fire, which lasted for at least
14 hours. At about 4:30 in the morning, it was deemed under control. According to the Bureau of Fire
Protection, it was put out on Wednesday at roughly 2:02 p.m.

Authorities identified the reason as arson on October 6, 2019, when gasoline was found "in a location
where it should not be" and was later detected. The MBC building and the Star City entrance were two
other locations where the fire spread, as well as the metals' distorted bends and the apparent char pattern.
A renter and his staff, as well as authorities from Star City, are the focus of an investigation. A local fire
marshal claims that on the day of the fire, the renter and his unregistered employees were seen entering
the building with sacks of cotton. However, the management refuted the arson charge, asserting that the
fire was accidental, and denounced the fire officials' findings as "irresponsible" for their conclusions. The
landlord's behavior was expected because cotton was used to stuff the plush toys that were given away as
prizes in some of the games, the management stated, adding that the gasoline was brought in to power
their bumper boats. However, it refuted the employees' purported illicit motivations by stating that the
company was successful, particularly around the Christmas season. Yet, despite its objections, the
management has committed to assist with the investigation. On December 27, 2019, a BFP representative
said that the electrical fire was caused by an overheated light ballast from a game booth on the ground
floor of Star City.
