Term Two - Week Two
• Choose a speech topic. Make sure
it is a topic that you will be able to
speak for four minutes on.
• Start to research your topic.
• Remember to dot point the
information in your own words.
Term Two - Week Four
• Write up your research notes into
your first draft. Edit.
• Create an ending with impact
• Time your speech to see if you
need to add more research or take
some out.
Term Two - Week Six
• Rehearse your speech so that you
know it off by heart.
• Start to work on presentation
techniques.
• Video tape on iPads. Watch and
make improvements.
Term Two - Week Eight
• The top three or four speakers
from each class will present their
speech to the Year 4 to 6 classes.
• Winners will go on to the Speak
With Confidence Awards and the
Speak Up Awards.
Term Two - Week Three
• Finish researching your speech
topic.
• Remember to dot point the
information in your own words.
• Create a sizzling start
Term Two - Week Five
• Have your teacher edit your final
draft and give suggestions for
improvement.
• Place your final speech onto palm
cards (usually only dot points as a
prompt).
Term Two - Week Seven
• You will present your speech to the
other members of your class.
• The top three or four speakers will
be chosen to compete in the school
competition.
