Ad Lib proverb Extempore

Words can poison, words can heal. Words are pale shadows of forgotten
names. As names have power, words have power. Words can light fires in
the minds of men. Words can wring tears from the hardest hearts. Words
lead people to the pinnacles of good and words can plunge people to the
depth of evil. 

I extended my warm greetings to Our admiral director Mrs. RAJEE N


KUMAR MA’AM, respected Principal ma’am, Ms. Jaishree ma’am, the
incharge of middle and secondary department Ms. Ektamam.honorary
judges, teachers and one and all present here.

I would like to welcome you all to : AD LIB. this is an extemporaneous


competition held in lieu of the Literacy week for the students of class 10th.
the competition is based on proverbs and their latent meanings.
Proverbs are a simple way of expressing a well-known truth or adage based
on common sense or experience. They are usually considered to be imbued
with ancestral wisdom, passed down from generation to generation until they
become part of a society’s oral tradition.

Now, I would like to shed some light on the instructions for the same:
The competition is divided into two parts. I part is preparatory round. And II
part is of presentation
• All students have given a proverb, through an anonymous chit system.
• They have got duration of 30 min.to prepare for the same.
• The provisional time of speaking is of 1 min 30 secs. There’ll be an
indication bell at 1 min 5 seconds.
• the contestants are not allowed to dictate from some pre-written material.
• The participants must give the introduction and then move forward with
proverb.
• and lastly, Participants should critically analyze and deliberate the essence
of the proverb creatively.

The criteria for Judgement are:


• Content
• fluency and expression
• presentation
• flow of idea i.e. creativity

_Rules and Regulations:_

1. Participants will get the topic 30 min. Prior before the event.

2. Participants should critically analyze and deliberate the essence of the


proverb creatively.

3.The participants must give the introduction and then move forward with
proverb.

4. The final bell will ring exactly at 1min.5sec.


No extra time will be provided.
