Resurgence 2020

Namaskar, a very warm welcome to this constellation of passionate orators on this

online platform/ orators, who have graced this auspicious occasion – Resurgence

2020, the Inter-School Declamation Event and we are blessed to have here with us

Ms. Ankita Sharma, Dr. Divya Walia as judges, the participants and their mentors

from various prestigious institutions from across the state.

Today IIS feels blessed to commemorate the immortal and sacred soul of our

dear alumnus Abhishek Dangi in whose fond memory this year we’ve graduated

to Resurgence 2020, an Inter School Event doing full justice knowing how

versatile this great soul was. He has been an epitome of excellence, a paragon,

who lit the igniting spark and has illumined the life of every petal here at IIS.

Organising this bonanza of excellence is a humble tribute to him.

I now take the privilege to welcome our first judge for the day, Ms. Ankita Sharma,

a seasoned practitioner at Kanodia Girls College, Jaipur. Her ambit of teaching

includes the classics as well as the contemporary literature. She is an energetic,

committed and highly qualified professor with a passion for teaching English and

a track record of excellence to her name. In capacity of a scholar, she’s been a

speaker in over 15 national and international conferences. She has been the

youngest speaker at the International Academic Forum of Research, New York.

India International welcomes you madam.

Our second judge for the day is an enthusiastic educationist. With service to

education as her prime motto and the desire to do something better and different

in the field of education she has a wealth of experience to her portfolio. Her area

of interest include, Communicative Language Teaching, Computer Assisted

Language Learning, Linguistics and Indian Writing in English. She has authored

three books, the latest being “Interrogating Terrorism.” No bouquets, no titles,

no awards can match her spirit. We welcome you ma’am.

Before we set the ball rolling, I congratulate all the participants on making this

day so special by joining us in offering our tribute to our ideal, (take the name

with pride) Abhishek Dangi.

We have three topics on the floor:

1. India Bounces Back

2. New Celebrities: Corona Warriors

3. Role of Social Media during the Pandemic

I will also repeat the ground rules for your convenience:

• Kindly mention the Code allotted // do not disclose your name and the

school to which you belong.

• The time limit for the declamation is 3 minutes.

• A warning bell will be sounded after 2 & half minutes

• Time limit would be strictly enforced.// Exceeding the time will attract a

penalty

• The speech content should be original

 • Script reading is not allowed. However, contestants may use flashcard.

• Use of defamatory language is discouraged.

• All participants to ensure good, uninterrupted internet connectivity

throughout the Event. //The Host School will not be responsible for any

technical glitches faced by the participant during the Event.

• All participants will be required to switch on their cameras during their

performance

For your convenience again, I’d like to share the judgement criteria.// There

are five criterias of 10 marks each. You’ll be marked on

• Content

• Fluency

• Persuasive Skill

• Pronunciation, articulation &intonation

• Overall performance

Thank you participants on sharing your views, your perspective on the topic and

believe me, a few of them were eye openers, things that were there, and I’d

somehow failed to observe. I know it’s been an ardours task for our reverend

judges marking each one of you for I’m sure you’ve given a tough fight.
